New website launched on GM crops specific to India.

Dear Friends,Greetings! This is to inform you that we have established a new website called www.indiagminfo.org to bring to you various material related to GM crops specific to India - their development, regulation, performance reports, opinions and expert comments etc. This is being maintained by Centre for Sustainable Agriculture but material is from various sources pooled together. The views expressed in the various reports on this site may or may not be endorsed by us. Many of the documents here have been in the public domain in the respective websites of various organisations. We have attempted to bring them all together into one site though the site is still somewhat AP-centric. There are also many more reports out there and we would keep adding such material onto the website as and when we obtain

such material.More importantly, this site was also set up to bring into the public domain, information from the regulators that has been obtained by groups like CSA, Thanal, Greenpeace etc., under Right to Information, so that a more informed debate takes place on the issues related to GM and their regulation. A careful reading of such material throws much light on the official approval and monitoring mechanisms and their findings. We have also put here material on where field trials of various crops are being undertaken during the current season.As you can see, the site still has some pages under construction and even as we are working on it to improve it and complete it as much as we can, we urge you to send us material that you have from your own locations and any material that you have obtained from the government which needs to be put out to a larger public. Also request you to please send us any updates you might have, any leads that you want to be
