From 1996 onwards I have done PhD-research in India on the Ayurvedic and Unani industry. On request of the publisher Orient Longman I have reworked my PhD-thesis. The new title is " Taking Traditional Knowledge to the Market: the Modern Image of the Ayurvedic and Unani Industry " . At the moment I am working on a new reseach project titled " The Politics of Value and the Construction of Cultural Commodities: Ayurveda and Unani Tibb in Popular Culture, 1982-2007 " . I am affiliated with IIAS (see signature below) and a member of the IASTAM-council.
