What I found was that it wasn't just thyroid that regulated body temp. but also adrenals. About the end of the summer I wasn't feeling right and just chalked it up to thyroid issues. The feeling got worse and then finally day AND night I was having these spells of heat. I mean HOT, I felt like I was on fire. Oh my friends said " your just having hot flashes " . This heat got so bad then it went to extreme heat and cold... no sweating or flushing. I got so I couldn't sleep more than 5 min at a time. I started looking into adrenal info and bingo there it was! My Dr discovered the adrenal insufficiency at the same time and I had already ordered a desiccated adrenal/pituitary supplement and started taking it. The relief from the severe heat/coldcame within a week or so of taking the adrenal support. I also took Maca herb (rainforest herb - www.wholeworldbotanicals.com) All my endrocrine glands were off the charts so I'm supporting them ALL with some sort of supplement. The endocrine glands have a domino effect so chances are your tests for hormones will be off(hot flashes) which can be caused by a thyroid/ pituitary imbalance which affects adrenals and causes temperature intolerance. Its been about 1 1/2 months since I started the supplements and I feel soooo much better. Adrenal insufficiency is not something you want to let go. My Dr told me there are a great number of people suffering from adrenal problems that go undiagnosed and unchecked. If you check your thyroid and you're not HYPERthyroid your symptoms sound like your problem might be adrenals as you can separate hot flashes from the other type of heat. The hot flashes are another issue that can be treated with various herb supplements. Hope this helps. Terri
