I'm wondering if anyone here has ever been able to reverse tooth decay or heard of anyone that has. Can teeth heal with the right nutrition? I've always wondered this since I was a kid. Also a source of better health advice than all modern blather. Within the last 10 years, studies of school children in Alberta and (I think) California showed that if the usual lighting in schoolroom was replaced with " full spectrum " fluorescent lights, the beginning cavities (brown spots on teeth) disappeared, and no-one in those classes got tooth decay. My friend has a tooth problem too...For instance, whenever he drinks wine, his teeth hurt...and when its red wine, they become heavily stained, and it looks like his teeth are black....I wonder if all the enamel has worn off. I have an ionic toothbrush, it has a battery in it and you wet your finger and place it on the eye while brushing... I love it. If I drink red wine my teeth really stain badly, and I do enjoy a glass now and then :-( Tea also stains my teeth. To decrease caffeine consumption I switched from being a 4 cup a coffee a day drinker to one tea bag in the morning, from which I manage to squeeze a weak 2nd cup. And believe it or not, I tried green tea as an anti oxidant and gave it up, b/c 1) I didn't LOVE it, but mainly 2) because it really stained my teeth yellow-greenish. And so does some herbs like chamomile. I'm very disappointed b/c I quit smoking in '98 and expected to have beautiful white teeth as a perk and from tea and/or wine, they are yellowish not long after the cleaning. Even after the cleaning they aren't superwhite, but acceptable. Boo-hoo. I've become self-conscious and am thinking of more frequent cleanings or a whitening process, but would prefer a more natural solution. I'd like to know if your dentist thinks the ionic toothbrush could help your friend and me. And by the way, what exactly doesn an ionic toothbrush do? Christmas I had a very bad tooth infection, it pounded, nothing would stop the pain. Sea Silver is liquid, I held it on the tooth for a few minutes a couple of times and the pain subsided. While my teeth are cleaner, they aren't necessarily whiter. The sonic helps somewhat with staining, but I still need to have my teeth whitened if I want that look.
