Guest guest
Concerning what is written below, it is my feeling you should MODERATE what is posted. Most of the material on this site is really good and helpful, but every once in awhile, a really far-out letter is posted, without much backing to what is being posted. The stevia bit is an example. It seems to me that a posting that said " Well, I was ill and took whatever, (insert the name here,) and it evidentially helped ME, so thought I would let you know. " Otherwise, claims, unsubstantiated except for the one person, have to be examined very closely if the poster suggests everyone should do this. Just too many variables involved when a thing helps one person. Enjoy the list, one of the best on the net. Roger in WV - Misty L. Trepke Thursday, December 30, 2004 9:52 AM [s-A] Hi Group- Dilema.. Feedback appreciated... Hi everyone... This last day or so, I have been presented with a challenge that I am not exactly sure how to handle.. What if members start posting information that they truly feel is valid, but as the owner and moderator, I feel is dangerous and seriously misleading?? To clarify from what someone reported that I wrote, I did not say cut out all red meat, just cut back on animal protein... Now, if it were myself, I would cut out all meat, and I personally have been a vegetarian, and feel much better than way... But I realize just because I write somthing, does not mean anyone is going to take it to heart, so to compromise I was willing to let the red meat thing go because the person the advice was being given to is so desiring of meat, that I thought most likely no shift is going to take place, and there was enough other stuff for them to try first, and if it still does not shift the migraines they might be willing at that point to re-evaluated and cut out significantly, or perhaps even eliminate meat. But now this person is saying that stevia should not be taken if you do natural healing? That is beyond belief, and seems to me to be entering the realm of superstition. I just don't see why I should promote posts that scare away someone from a natural, safe, herb because some practitioner feels their form of body work, energy work, whatever BM is considered, is somehow harmed by this herb, nor do I think it less than proposterous for this practitioner to say that everyone who has received " natural healing " - which most if not all of us fall under, is doomed to undo all the good that has been done because someone injests stevia.... Homeopathy can borderline on this superstition... But I have proved to myself that it is bogus... They say camphor or strong smells will keep a remedy from working, for example. BS. If it is the right remedy it will work... At moments of desperation I have taken remedies under the very worst of circumstances and still have found them to have affect. It is my concern that such ideas are circulated to be an excuse for lousey practitioners when their work is found to be just that, lousey... As the owner and moderator, I want to be fair, and this is a difficult decision, so I am asking for what everyone thinks, but I am leaning towards the metaphor of a loving gardener, who has the duty and responsibility to promote growth, at the same time has the duty and responsibility to keep the weeds at bay...
