Hi everyone... I was sent this personally from a lady in Virgina

with the screen name of " SwtChks " , and asked if I could share her

situation with the group, so we could all offer our perspectives and

I was diagnosed with emphysema this Sept and of course they want to

treat it with meds knowing their is no medical cure BUT I know that

alternative can cure it.....Please help me........My doctors here

will not help me...He screamed at me when i mentioned

vitamins........Ive put myself on MSM........Magnesium

Oxide........Vitamins A........C and

E........CoenzymeQ10..........Zinc....plus i quit smoking.........Im

trying to get a prescription for Inhaled Glutathione ( which has

been proven to stop it) but to no luck here in the states.......Im

not willing to just die because the medical society says i have

to..Please help me determing what treatments i need and where i can

get them......I have insurance so the place will need to take

Southern Health or Anthem, Blue Cross, Blue Shield....I thank you so

much for your time and I joined the site this morning that you have

so much info on.

Misty..thank you so much for answering my email...........Im a lil

upset right now because I just made an appointment with an

alternative doctor that says inhaled glutathione definitely stops

emphysema and reverses some of the damage and will see me on Dec

18...bad news is that my insurance company will not pay her visit or

the prescription......the good news is that my insurance company

will pay for the nebulizer machine.......bad news is that my doctor

doesnt believe in alternative so he refuses to write prescription

for machine.......its no wonder so many people die from illness in

the good ole USA.....Buts thats ok because my daughter still has the

machine she bought a few years ago for her lil son when he had real

bad chest cold.........God does work wonders after

all.............Feel free to post anything you wish.........MY

symptoms are as follows................I had no short of breath or

anything until i woke up in June of this year.........Ive never been

short of breath at all and still not short of breath.....I woke up

having a problem to ex-hale........with pressure in my

chest.......this scared me so of course i got excited and started

having a problems in breathing in.......Lung x-rays showed normal

except hyperinflation...Dr. told me that was normal........i

believed her.........exhaling and pressure continued till August

till i ended up in ER....they did a cat scan which showed

hyperinflation.was given Advair and 6 day supply of

Prednisone.........I felt great until the 6 days were

up.......exhaling and tightness in chest again.......saw lung

specialist on Sept 15 who did spirometry test and said 60% lung

damage from COPD and i asked if it was emphysema and he said yes and

that its been there for some time..I quit smoking that day.......He

gave me Spiriva which i am on today and sent me home........I quess

he sent me home to die.............My blood sat level is at 97 and

stays there........if i miss my Spiriva which you take once a

day.......tightness and exhaling problem comes back........My PPO

doctor says if i stop smoking i will live a normal and regular

lifetime........I dont think so when we all know emphysema is

progressive even though stop smoking slows it down...........The new

alternative doctor is disqusted with the way my drs have done me and

told me if i continued with them...theyd have me buried in a couple

years.............all my aunts and uncles and cousins and 1 brother

have emphysema but when i ask to be tested for that Atr 1

(something) deficiency...they say i dont need it....( Im laughing

right now)......so i found your site and think im at the right place

now......................I do anything i want to..........im

breathing excellent both inhaling and exhaling.......I walk 1 mile

every evening and i am on my supplements and i changed my diet and

as soon as i get on the Glutathione.......I know without a doubt

that it will be stopped...........the lung doctor told me on the

phone today that Glutathione stops emphysema but the FDA hasnt

approved it so he cant order it..............its considered

experimental even though you need prescription for

it.............Sorry i typed so much but just want others with

Emphysema to know that you have to fight to get the meds you need (

Im proof of that) and I have no intentions of quitting.my life

depends upon it..............and in the meantime I email my

Congressman every day about getting more money for research for a

cure of emphysema to the point that hes sick of me............I will

fight for my right to breathe and be cured and I will fight for all

people who have emphysema and are getting the run around like I
