Guest guest
Misty, there can be a false reading in the PSA, but this is rare. It is a simple blood test, wait a few days and take another if the PSA is high. Then, if it's still up, have a biopsy of the prostate done. Simple test as well. THAT will tell the story. No mistakes there. I had a biopsy done, then to make sure of the correct reading of the grade, sent it to Johns Hopkins. No mistakes. Prostate cancer, after lung cancer, is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in men. Roger - Misty L. Ok, let me go out on a rope here, and ask: is there a male equivalent? Roger was correct in bringing up the question: how would males know without a PSA or from tell-tale symptoms? There must be other answers available to men... (Especially if there is a chance the PSA is not totally reliable.) Be Well, Misty L.
