Guest guest Posted February 27, 2003 Report Share Posted February 27, 2003 Dear Misty, I am writing to tell you and any members of your group, who may also be members of Gettingwell, that has disabled almost all of the features and functions of the group site again. We can not post or receive messages, The archives are not available. Most of the tools are now disabled. Whether it will be corrected or not is anybodies guess at this time. Periodically, we have been harrassed. Our messages would be unexplainably repeated multiple times on the board and to the group. The ability to post would be disabled, etc. Our archives would become unexplainably unavailable for periods of time. A few weeks ago, the front of our home page was altered, and did not show the previous years message count by month etc. It was never corrected. Complaints to were useless. You will have to draw your own conclusions. Please let our members know that the group is not functioning at this point and they will have to use an alternate group to communicate with each other or someother solution for the time being. We deal with some controversial issues in health, but I wouldn't think with our small numbers that we would be considereda threat to anyone. I admire your site greatly because you do take on the controversial subjects, and it has been a great source of inpiration for me. I am greatly saddened by this news. I have heard of this kind of thing before. I am a member of Herbal Remedies as well, and they went through this just a few weeks ago. Fortunately their site came back up, after a week or more being down, again without explanation, without recourse. I would be happy to offer my site as an interim site for you until yours comes back up. If there is anything else I can do, please do not hesitate to ask, I will gladly... This is a supplement co-op where generics are tested and certified, then sold with no profit plus giving to the poor. Big companies don't want that, do they? Earlier this week I wrote how alternative medicine is taking such a hit this year: 1)The FDA regulating supplements 2)The concept of " organic " being destroyed 3)NC alternative health practioners being faced with felonies for practicing 4)Let's not forget the whole GM food issue But now to take away our ability to even discuss and share this information amongst ourselves... Not to play devil's advocate....but......are you sure is just doing system maintenance or having their own technical difficulties and it's affecting your group? I say that because I too have a and haven't had any trouble and I also run an EZBoard....which I always have trouble with!!! LOL! But they always let us know ahead of time or post notices if it was unexpected as alot of us pay for those boards..... is free...maybe they think it would cost them to notify us of troubles??
