Guest guest
As per Misty's request here is information about Ortho-Bionomy and Somatic Experiencing. Ortho-Bionomy® is a gentle osteopathically-based structural positioning approach to balancing and healing acute or chronic tensions and conditions within the body. It's prime directive is " moving away from pain into comfort " , as client and practitioner work together as a team to " unite-those-knots- in-the-shoelaces " --with slack—not with force. Whole body, not only symptomatic healing, occurs as the practitioner either works through clothes, or combines Ortho-Bionomy with other modalities. To find practitioners and classes in your area visit: www.ortho-bionomy.org. Somatic Experiencing® works with stresses and trauma that are locked in the body, the mind, and/ or the emotions. Symptoms arise— not from the event—but because the energy from the event has not been fully discharged from the body and remains trapped within the nervous system. Working with body sensations, in a safe and gradual way, the practitioner aids the client in renegotiating and healing physically, mentally and/or emotionally over-whelming events. The website, www.traumahealing.com gives emergency first aid information on how to handle minor or major traumas from car crashes, surgery, falls, attacks or September 11 type of events. Practitioners and a 3-year training program are also listed there.
