Text of the same:

here is a proverb in Telugu which says “ My fortune depends on your

compassionâ€. So, only a staunch devotee can demand. One has to suffer one’s

Karma. It should not be a business devotion. Guru can give moral support. You

have to walk alone in your path. You have to live to your Karma. It is your sole

responsibility. Our good and bad in life is due to our Karma. We have to enjoy

or suffer for it. Then why follow a Guru? To develop a good way of life so that

the Karma dissolves and you have a better life next time.

Bhagavad Gita suggests NISHKAAMA KARMA. Your prayer should be demand less. It is

difficult. But at least you should not pray for fantastic or for turn around

results. Nothing happens in one day’s prayer. Your Karma is deep seated and

needs years and years of prayer and Sadhana. Lead a disciplined spiritual life

and it will certainly support you in difficult times. Nobody can help you

because they too have their own problems. One may compassionately listen to your

woes for one day, two day or three days. Thereafter, they will exclaim “You

know, we too have our problemsâ€. In these days of modernity even to find a

patient listener is difficult. People mock at you when you unburden your heart.

We have to have courage and face our problems. Face and experience difficulties

with a stoic and string heart. Swamiji can give you moral support and be a good

friend. Even I cannot give you promises because such promise will be a false

statement. Sadguru will

not take your Karma because you alone are responsible for it. It is like body

pain. You alone have to suffer the pain. Doctors cannot suffer for it. A good

Sadguru will make the Karma feel light so that you don’t get dissolved. in to

it.

Sadguru can help you not to make the same mistake of committing the same Karmic

mistakes. He can be a good guide. You cannot demand guidance. You can only beg

for it. Surrender and beg. Your exhibitionistic devotion will not make me

compassionate. I see your heart and decide about the amount of attention you

will get from me. Keep on chanting Rama Rama and Shiva Shiva. Complete surrender

is very difficult. Even Draupadi of Maha Bharata found it difficult. When she

was being unrobed forcefully, with one hand she held on to the small amount of

clothe on her body and with the other hand she was pleading Lord Krishna to come

from Heaven and protect her. Krishna did not come. He came only after she

pleaded with two hands. She had to surrender all her efforts and then only did

Lord come. Many think that they have surrendered. You all are still committing

sins. You are house holders with children, wife and business and jobs. Sitting

amidst all this you cannot

fully surrender and follow a Guru. Even a Yogi in Himalaya would have

completely surrendered. He also would feel that it would be very cold and would

desire for a pull over. Vedanta is good to discuss about. But practicing it

would be a difficult one. It is not for everyone. That is why Sri Swamiji

suggests Bhakti Marga.

Do you understand my English ? (The audience roars a YES). Swamiji disliked

English as a child and if anyone spoke English I used to close my ears. See

now…. I am forced to speak English. This is my Karma. I am lazy. I am still

not learning it. I need assistants so that they get blessed. But you people do

not take their help. You want direct connection. Many people do not want to

speak to Prasad or Radhakrishna. They ask me directly for a programme and I

agree but forget. On the day of programme, it gets cancelled because it is not

in their dairy. It is good to have a second person know the programmes. It is

for your protection only. It is a great sin to say that you have direct

connection with Swamiji. Swamiji is like a child and forgets it. Swamiji keeps

them as assistants. So, you must contact them for fixing Swamiji’s programmes.

To run such a large organization, Swamiji will need assistants and they have to

be protected.

So, you want Moksha, I will sing a long Bhajan and this is like the ten

commandants. But this Bhajan gives 120 commands. Try to follow at least a few of

them.

Sri Swamiji sings the Kannada Bhajan Mumukshu Intirabekanna.

I remember a funny story. One foolish person climbed a drum stick tree. He was

about to fall as the tender branch was about to snap. Shiva and Parvati who were

going in the sky saw this. They debated as to who should go and protect. Then

Narada too came there and joined them. He suggested that Shiva should go if that

person shouted Ayyapppa and Parvati should go if he shouts Ayyammma. But that

foolish person shouted Ayyo I am dying and fell and died. So you must always

practice the name of God so that you always chant the name of God and stop the

chant of Money and computer and bank balance. Practice the names of Krishna,

Govinda and Narayana. When you are old, weak and dying, you will automatically

chant these names.

Jaya Guru Datta.
