Namaste,

Great idea Anoop ! I just don't know how many devotees actually participate on

this forum.

I occasionally post on vegetarianism/vegan diets especially these sites:

www.drfuhrman.com www.EatRightAmerica.com www.diseaseproof.com

all these sites are by Dr Joel Fuhrman, MD who gives his Vegan approach a sound

scientific basis with his simple( Einstein type ) equation :

Nutritional Healing = Nutrients / Calories

Simply applying the above equation, all foods can be grouped as follows:

1) Green veggies are the best for healing and should be used the most

2) Then come all other veggies and fruits

3) Then come the (seeds, nuts, legumes, & whole grains) which must be used in

moderation

4) Grains begin to be problematic when eaten too much or are processed

5) Of all the NON-vegetarian foods, eggs are best for nutritional density and

are occasionally used at Amma's ashram( Amritapuri ) by the westerners

6) All animal foods, dairy, too much or processed grains, are all problematic

due to too many calories and/or toxins

7) The following have the lowest Nutrients per Calories density and are most

harmful for health: extracted oils, sugars, trans fats, hydrogenated oils,

various fats, various additives

Perhaps, in these current times, a scientific approach to benefits of vegan

diets as above can be helpful in complementing the environmental issues.

Check out the above sites, Anoop, and if any questions, email me OFFLINE.

Thank you very much for posting this; I appreciate it.

Amma Bless,

amarnath
