Generally, sensible scholars regard Churchward's Mu / Lemuria hypothesis as an unwarranted product of the late Victorian / Edwardian era on a par with the contemporary Atrlantis theory. Best not to waste your time on that. If you want a plausible suggestion of the origin of the Munda, I suggest you read: " Eden in the East: The Drowned Continent of the Southeast Asia " by Stephen Oppenheimer. This outlines a much more convincing and scientifically-based theory which places the " lost continent " in the SE Asian peninsular, extending down through the Indonesian and neighbouring archipelagoes, which he calls Sundaland. Prior to the collapse of the Laurentide Ice Shield (in Canada) at the very tail end of the last ice-age (c8000-7000BCE), sea levels world wide would have been significantly lower. The release of thousands of cubic kilometres of water would have raised the water very swiftly and inundate any low-lying areas. Oppenheimer is a geneticist and sees evidence of a huge diaspora of survivors from that drowned area in genetic data, specifically concerning a variant of sickle-cell anaemia which is unique to the Borneo / Indonesian region. He also adduces considerable lingusitic and cultural (eg rice cultivation) corroboration for his theory. Guest guest
There is a theory that Andhras(migrated from North of tamilnadu-it could be either from North India or from Deccan plataeu which is to the north of TN)were the aborigines of Tamil Nadu, whereas Tamils have come from Lemuria(in Indian ocean), when the island was on the verge of drowning totally. Can any list member please throw more light on this? kishore , " kishore mohan " <kishore_future> wrote: > INDOLOGY , " Stephen Hodge " <s.hodge@p...> wrote: > Aslam Rasoolpuri wrote: > > > I checked some site about Lemuria.
