::VANDAYAAMI NAARASIMHA SARASWATHEESHA PAAHIMAAM:: Dear Members of the group!!! As u know already, the second incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, Sri Nrusimha saraswathy swamy closed his avathara on the day of MAAGHA BAHULA PAADYAMI (GURU PAADYAMI) at Kadalivana of Srisaila. This year the day is coming on 22nd Feb, 2008 (Friday). These days are treating as very powerful days of Dattaguru sadhana and organising special UTSAVAS at all the Dattaguru kshetras like GANAGAPUR, KURAVAPUR AND PITHAPUR etc., These AARADHANOTSAVAAS are also performing at Shree Gurudatta samsthan , Jawahar Nagar colony of Markapur from 20.02.2008 to 22.02.2008. Rudrabhishekas, Archana, Annadana, Nagarotsavams will be performed during these days. Gurucharitra paarayana will also be organised and especially, special pujas, Mahanivedan(Bhog), Maha mangala harathi will be performed on 22.02.2008 (Aradhan day). Please see the following rarest original photograph of Nirguna padukas of Ganagapur with Utsavamurthy at SWamy Mutt, Ganagapur. Srisaila Gamana yatra of ShreeGURU from Shree Gurucharitra: One day he called all His devotees and the people of Gangapur to the Math. He announced that he was bidding goodbye to Gangapur and was setting out on his pilgrimage to SriSailam. All started sobbing. What would be Gangapur without Guru Nath? Guru Nath was it's sole life and light. Seeing how grief stricken all were, Guru Nath announced that although they would not be able to see his physical form at Gangapur, yet he would be abiding there for ever, in His invisible form (in his grace body). He would continue to answer all prayers, and would continue to shower His grace on all

supplicants. He further said that wherever He be, he would continue to be visiting Sangam in the mornings everyday for his bath, and by midday he would be visiting the Math unfailingly, though He would not be visible to the fleshy, human eyes. He said that he would be having His Nirguna Padukas in the Math and that they would be a reservoir and repository of all spiritual power and that worship offered to the Aswatha Tree was worship unto the Kalpavriksha. The Aswatha Tree would fulfill all the desires of the supplicants. Comforting and assuring the people thus, he set out from Gangapur. All the people of Gangapur were following Him. Guru Nath told them that they should return to their homes. He again assured them, that His presence would continue to be felt at the Math, by all devotees, by mere remembrance or recalling His name. The people had to retrace their steps with a heavy heart, homewards. They were feeling that their life-breath had ebbed out of them. The void caused in their life by Guru Nath's leaving from Gangapur could never be filled up and would remain so forever. Their hearts sand down in despair and gloom. At the Math they

all stopped, their feet refusing to move from there. "Why not we all end our lives here?" that was their thought at the moment. Lo! there was a flash of light in the Math. Guru Nath revealed Himself before their eyes, smiling and holding out His Abhaya Hastha. (The upraised palm indicating assurance and benediction). The people were enlivened. Their gloom had melted away; and with faith enriched in the Omnipresence of Guru Nath, they slowly returned to their homes. Even today

also, the devotees who are visiting Ganagapur kshetra are experiencing the presence of Shre guru by having the blessings of Shree Gurumaharaj. 21.02.2008 is Magha sudha pournami. On this day, Sri Sidharaja Dattatreya swamy (one of the shodasa avatharas of lord Dattatreya) took the birth. Bhiksha sweekara programe is taking on this day. One can see the following Sidharaja dattatreya avathara photo. All the members of the group are requested to attend the programmes personally and can have the blessings of Lord Dattatreya. (Nirguna Padukas at Ganagapuram of Sri Nrusimha Saraswathy Swamivaru)

700 years ago, His Holiness Narasimha Saraswati Swamiji installed the PADUKAS here. The same Puja method he started is continued to this day. It is said that no one has seen the original Padukas as they always are smeared thickly with saffron mixed sandal paste. No Abhisheka has ever been done to the Padukas.

The Nirguna Matha shrine where the Datta Padukas were installed by Sri Narasimha Saraswati Swamiji (the central silver hole is where devotees look through for the Paduka Darshan)

The famous Ashwattha tree

The north flowing Bhima river meets AMARAJA river couple of kilometres away creating a SANGAMA KSHETRA (place where these two rivers meet). It is said that Narasimha Saraswati Swamiji took daily bath in this sacred spot of two river meeting. Even today, bathing in this place is considered very holy and sin removing. There is a Datta Temple at this place of Sangama.

Karanja Kshetram

On Bahula Paadyami Magha day, special utasavam is conducted in Ganagapuram with puja being done to Datta-Nirguna Padukas also.

To the west of the Temple is a Peepul tree with NAGA (serpent) statues under it. It is said in the sacred book GURU CHARITRA that a Brahma Rakshasa used to live in that tree. To the north of the main temple are small shrines of Hanuman and Ganapathy.

Yours yogically,

unmattAnanda-dAyakA! raksha! raksha!

Dear Brothers,

Yes Maagha Pournima/ Bahula Padyami are important to us, as it is Avathaara Thithi of "Sri Sidhaa Raaju" the seventh avatharam of Datta Prabhu in 16 Avatharas described by sri sri sri Paramahamsa Parivraajakaacharya Vasudevaananda Saraswathi Swami.

Incidently Siddha Raaju Avathaaram occurred on GuruVaaram->Udayam Dwitheeya Yamam->Dwitheeya Muhurtham. Even this year Pournima occurs on Thursday....what else even Chandra Grahanam is there...... great muhurtham for Datta Upaasakas

This Day we need to do Guru Charitra Parayanam/ Maala Manthra Japam/ Pushaka Dhaanam

The Purpose of "Sri Siddha Raaju" Avathaaram of Datta prabhu was to remove the Ahankaaram born out of Tapasya done by Great Siddha Purushas @ Baadirikaa Vanam....Rudras/ Adhithyas/ Maruths/ Deva Ganas witnessed this great event.....

[This Info is taken from Book - "Sri Dattatreya Sarvasvamu" - by Sri Sri G.V.L.N. Sharma Sir.]

Pujya Sri Subrahmanyam garu,

I have been adviced by my Guru Sri Yogananda Sastry garu to go to Ganugapur and stay there for 3 nights with my family including Bhiksha.

Are you aware of any place in Ganagapur where I can stay (any spiritually suitable place) and also seek Bhiksha?

Thank you in advance.

Namah

Ravi Shankar

for ever, in His invisible form (in his grace body). He would continue to answer all prayers, and would continue to shower His grace on all supplicants. The void caused in their life by Guru Nath's leaving from Gangapur could never be

filled up and would remain so forever. Their hearts sand down in despair and gloom. At the Math they all stopped, their feet refusing to move from there. "Why not we all end our lives here?" that was their thought at the moment. Lo! there was a flash of light in the Math. Guru Nath revealed Himself before their eyes, smiling and holding out His Abhaya Hastha. (The upraised palm indicating assurance and benediction) . The people were enlivened. Their gloom had melted away; and with faith enriched in the Omnipresence of Guru Nath, they slowly returned to their homes. Even today also, the devotees who are visiting Ganagapur kshetra are experiencing the presence of Shre guru by having the blessings of Shree Gurumaharaj. 21.02.2008 is Magha sudha pournami.
