Guest guest Report post Posted April 10, 2010 Namaste all: In Maa's autobiography, " Living with the Soul " , She writes on P. 173.... " You know, in olden times, in the Vedic times, everyone was remembering God. It was very peaceful and God was felt everywhere. Then the population gradually increased and people got busier and busier and began to forget. People don't think, " OK, we have enough material possessions, now we should turn to God. " Instead they say, " I want more!. I want name, fame, gain! " Maa laughs, Fun! Isn't that fun? These days the world is tough and the mind is pulling us everywhere. When the mind pulls, you become a wave. Therefore the Chandi is the best book for our times. When Markandeya wrote the Chandi, he knew this time in the world was coming. Before destruction comes, it will be dark. He knew human beings would forget the dharma. Therefore he wrote the Chandi to deal with these fluctuations of the mind. In every chapter he wrote how the asuras are affecting us. He wrote the Chandi so that when people read it, it will remind them who they are so they can cut the ego. Isn't it beautiful? He wrote to protect human beings and to tell them that " I am with you, I am that. " Ultimately it will become " I am that " .
