Guest guest
Namaste everyone! I was wondering about the tilak and under what circumstances it is appropriate to wear. When I visited the Devi Mandir, it was put on me after Satya Narayan puja and after Chandi Path. Is it appropriate to wear it on ones own at home? Thank you! ~Manya
Guest guest
jai gurudev generally tilak can be of red chandan-red sandalwood,or yellow sandalwood,or kumkum. this is energised by saying some mantras, depends on what type u want, and then applied to 3rd eye chakra and also on top of head,ie crown chakra. it is for protection and also to enhance spiritual power. om shakti gopal On 10/23/09, weeshe83 <weeshe83 wrote: Namaste everyone!I was wondering about the tilak and under what circumstances it is appropriate to wear. Guest guest
there is a mantra in the back of shiva puja book pg. 432 for application of tilak and im sure it is in the cosmic puja book as well. i apply tilak every day at the end of puja. as annointment to spending time with the divine. the ash doesnt last long and it doesnt stick out too bad. the kum kum and other red powders do . it is totally up to personal preference to annoint the 3rd eye with ash or kumkum after spending time with the divine, just another tool we can use to extend the bhava. god bless. gopal narayan <gopalnarayan123 Fri, Oct 23, 2009 2:55 am Re: [www.ShreeMaa.org] Tilak jai gurudev generally tilak can be of red chandan-red sandalwood,or yellow sandalwood,or kumkum. this is energised by saying some mantras, depends on what type u want, and then applied to 3rd eye chakra and also on top of head,ie crown chakra. it is for protection and also to enhance spiritual power. om shakti gopal On 10/23/09, weeshe83 <weeshe83 (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: Namaste everyone!
