Namasthe.

I thought of writing this post after I saw a wonderful post from a member

describing " SADHANA CHATHUSTAYAM " by which one gets the MOKSHA. A word of

caution -- that this is applicable for UTTAMA ADIKARIES only, who by virtue of

their Bhakthy and Karma have attained 90 % of Chittha Suddhi and for eliminating

the balance impurity do Sadhana and By the Grace of Brahman attain the Advaitha

Siddhy or Moksha.

Let us understand what MAHA PERIYAVAAL has talked on this.

QUOTE ;

Mokaha is that state which cant be described by word, comprehended by mind,no

greater bliss than that,no greater place,no greater freedom than that of being

EKA VASTHU spread allover without any limit. AKHANDAM and the truth of all

truths.

What needs to be done first is Karmanustanam and doing it in accordance with

Sastric rules.

These days there is a view that if it is moksham, all Karmanustanams and

Acharaas should be given up. Taking ADVAITHA as the LICENCE to be without

acharam,it is being said " What is there is all these " . All these upadesams are

for Old Fashioned people who would not not change with Modern Times. all these

tall talks without any explanation of Advaitha, without making any effort and

with no experience of the non difference between the Jiva and the Brahman. They

say HOW DOES ATHMA HAVE KARMA? Where is the restriction of Achara and when we

observe Varnasrama Dharma is it not contrary to Advaitha? This Advaitha is being

dragged for them to give up Sastras,Sampradayas and BE AS THEY WANT.

No one Need to consider the ADVAITHA SADHANA to be taken seriously. MAKE IT FIRM

IN YOUR MIND THAT JIVA AND BRAHMAN ARE ONE. That will start working on its own.

What you have to do consciously is to observe the Karmas according to sastras

and that would carry you to the Destination.

Namaste All,

I would like to add some more to this good mail. One of the

points that I would like to re-iterate is about Karma and how this helps a

Sadhaka to reach Moksha eventually. Please see some notes below.

* Every Karma has been told in Sastras based on Varna and Asharama

Dharma. Each Karma is important for that Varna and Ashrama. For example a

Brahmana doing Nitya Karma is as important as a Vaishya doing commerce. For

Vaishya doing commerce is nitya karma. Nothing is superior or inferior.

* Karma itself does not take a person to Moskha. (this is explained

below)

* In Chapter 7 Bhagawan explains there are 4 types of Bhakatas. " Chatur

vidha bajanate maam janaha sukritinoarjuna. Aarta jignasu artharthi jnani cha

Bharathsharbha " . One who is in distress, another who wants money, property etc,

one who is Sadhaka and lastly one who is Jnani worship God.

* The first two kinds of people are doing Karma and their desire is

materialistic.

* The third one does karma with the intention of reaching Lord. Here he

does what is called Nishkaama Karma. He will do Karma as if an Yajamana as told

to a servant with lot of confidence in Yajamana. He will not worry about the

PHALA of Karma. His main intention is reaching supreme Lord. Hence it is

Nishkaama. B Gita says : " na karamana manarabhanth naishkarmyam purushoshnute "

meaning WITHOUT DOING KARMA YOU CAN NEVER REACH MOKSHA (NAISHKARMYAM)

* The fourth one Jnani will be always thinking about HIM, hence whatever

he is doing or not doing it is about God.

If we are doing Karma for materialistic purpose, then it is good. But if we are

doing NISHKAMA Karma then it is even better. Finally if we are not doing Karma

that is the best.

Please remember, to reach not DOING KARMA, we have to do NISHKAMA KARMA for many

Janmas. This is what the end state. To reach end state there are no shortcuts.

This is what Sastras preach.

Regards

Shashi
