Lord Muneeswara - Info required

Namaste,

 

One of my friend was asking the other day for the reference on Lord Sri

Muneeswara.Some people do have Muneeswara as Kuladevata.

 

Can i request the members to share any reference found on above in Puranas or in

any other texts.

Muneeswaran is considered to be an amsha of Lord Veerabhadra is most cases. And

u some cases as an Amsha of Bhairava. He is one of the important Parivara of

Lord Sastha.

 

There are many folklores and legends available for Muneeswara..But you dont find

any direct puranic references(so far) with the name " Muneeswara " ..

 

There are many forms of Muneeswara being worshipped and each may have a legend

associated with it..

 

As far as my study,the worship of Muneeswara is very much confined as a Grama

Devata and in many places Nonvedhic practices are followed, which may be

avoided.
