Dear members,

 

This is the KIRATA VARAHI STAVAH which is used for subjugation of one’s

enemies (satru vashya and satru samhara). This stotra is used for counter

attacking the abhicharika prayogas and is proved to be very effective. Care

should be taken in parayana of this stavah and MY SINCERE ADVICE TO THE

ASPIRANTS IS THAT PRAYOGA SHOULD BE PERFORMED ON ONE’S OWN MIND FOR THE

SUBJUGATION OF KAMA, KRODHA, LOBHA, MADA, MAATSARYA. THIS IS THE UTTAMA

LAKSHANA OF THE UPASAKA.

Dear vishwam,

 

I think it is the problem with my spelling. It is Kirata Vaaraahi as

you said.

 

It is kirata rupa Narayani and the mantra drashta is kirata rupa adi

purusha.

 

I donot have itrans so i had to stress the spelling wherever the

dirgha maatra is appearing.

Few years back, I had heard in one of the lectures of a very learned scholar

that, Vaaraahi doesnot answer on any of our prayers involving Lowkika except

Moksha, Can any member answer from this angle as to why it is so ?

Dear ganapathi,

 

Namaste.

 

The stotra which is presented by me is Kiratarupa Narayani which is

non-different from Vanadurga. (ref. Durga suktam : Vaishnavim

lokamiham adayantaam...)That is why the rishi was Adi Kiratarupa

Parama Purusha. This was the part of Vanadurga Kalpa and is used for

satru nivarana. However, this same vanadurga is also moksha pradayini

vidya and hence it is called Mahavidya. There are pata bhedas in

Vanadurga kalpa.

 

However, the Varahi panchakam which forms the purva-anga of Srividya

is used for atma raksha and i donot think it is ever used for moksha.

If it is used for moksha, why it is used as anga devata for

rajarajeshwari. All the higher mantras after panchadasi are used for

atma vidya. varahi is also called Dandini and syamala is called

Mantrini.

Namaste.

 

The stotra which is presented by me is Kiratarupa Narayani which is

non-different from Vanadurga. (ref. Durga suktam : Vaishnavim

lokamiham adayantaam.. .)That is why the rishi was Adi Kiratarupa

Parama Purusha. This was the part of Vanadurga Kalpa and is used for

satru nivarana. However, this same vanadurga is also moksha pradayini

vidya and hence it is called Mahavidya. There are pata bhedas in

Vanadurga kalpa.

 

However, the Varahi panchakam which forms the purva-anga of Srividya

is used for atma raksha and i donot think it is ever used for moksha.

If it is used for moksha, why it is used as anga devata for

rajarajeshwari. All the higher mantras after panchadasi are used for

atma vidya. varahi is also called Dandini and syamala is called

Mantrini.

Dear ganapathi,

 

What i meant by atmaraksha is protection of oneself from negative

forces that obstruct the path of upasaka. It is used for paralysing

the negative forces.

 

It also presides over the virya and denotes the kriya sakti of

tripurasundari.

 

One question from my side: Had it been exclusive used for moksha

aspect why it is the anga vidya in srividya. Our elders would have

stopped the initiation of mantra at this level only. Why it is

necessary for them to go for higher mantras.

 

This reminds me of a prayoga by Shri Abhinava Vidyatirtha

Mahaswamigal. He used this Mantra for driving away of evil spirits

from a haunted house.

 

But, a uttama adhikari neither thinks of these prayogas nor uses them

for selfish ends. When the sole objective is moksha then all other

anga mantras work for the single goal ie., salvation. So, for him

whether it is

chandi/bala/ganapathi/varahi/syamala/panchadasi/shodasi/mahapaduka/mah

asodashi/nirvana sundari, it does not matter.

 

In the words of Brahmasri Tadepalli Raghavanarayana Sastrigal who is

considered to be walking god like Mahaperiyavaal, Bala Shadakshari is

more than enough for the uttama adhikari. And he even stood

testimony to that.

 

He did the japa of gayatri, siva panchakshari, bala, chintamani. He

did 17 purascharanas of Bala and attained mantra siddhi. In the

sastra sabha he was humiliated for not having sodashi. The same

night Balatripurasundari appeared in dream and consoled him not to

worry for not having shodasi. She herself became gururupini and

initiated shri sastrigal into Shodasi. Later he attained the lalitha

sayujya by performing shatchakra bhedana using Bala Mantra. After his

passing away, drops of blood were seen on the Brahmarandra which

implied that his prana sakti pierced the Brahmarandra. This is the

power of BALA TRIPURASUNDARI. People underestimate this short mantra

of 6 bijas but it is not so.

 

So, when Krama Diksha is formulated by elders, it has some sense in

it. Why not directly Mahasodasi / Mahapaduka / Gurutraya are given to

the disciple?

 

Since, i am not initiated in the Varahi and other vidyas i am not fit

enough to explain the subtle aspects of these vidyas. You can contact

an advanced upasaka in this matter.

Dear Ganapathy-ji,

 

this is curious as the maala mantram does not even come close to moksham when

taken literally.

 

I have seen some scholars interpret 'obstacles' as our raaga/dwesha and

interpret 'shatru' as our ignorance/ego etc..

 

I guess understanding happens in layers, at the most basic level our obstacles

and enemies are 'real' and as our wants and needs in the loukika samsara are met

by the God/mantra in question, then we start redefining our obstacles and

enemies to more metaphysical entities and the same God/mantra will help there

too leading to moksha.. (this is my theory, not based on even a wit of research

:-) )

Dear vishwam,

 

You are right. Even the Meru Tantra says so that Varahi is generally

not used for moksha purpose. It is generally used for loukika. Varahi

japa is generally adviced during the nights. However, as i said for

uttama sadhaka whose sole objective is moksha, then this vedantic

interpretation works good.

Sri Durgai siddhar of padappai was a upasakA of vArAhi. He used to regularly say

that vArAhi is mokshakAraki. and hence require quite a good % of austerities. He

used to caution people in their active family life( in their 30s and 40s)

against doing doing the japa of vArAhi moolamanthra, in case they are not ready

for it.

 

The temple he has build in padappai has a sannidhi for shyamala vArAhi with 3

other vArAhIs around the sannidhi( aswarooda, garudaaruda and one more. i am not

sure of the name) .

 

but i distinctly remember he saying that SHE is mokshal kaaraki.

One simple question from my side.

 

If Varahi itself can confer the liberation, why it has been included

as the purva anga in Srividya. Why at all Shodasi, Mahapaduka,

Mahashodai is given after that. They would have stopped the

initiation then and there itself at Varahi, had it been the pradhana

devata.

 

Varahi and Syamala otherwise called Dandini and Mantrini are the

pradhana anga devatas. Varahi protects the upasaka from ill-effects

and paralyses them whereas Mantrini confers mantra siddhi, gives vak

siddhi, vak shuddhi.

 

The material aspects of the upasaka are taken care of by Varahi,

Syamala, Bala, Panchadasi. But after Panchadasi, the objective should

be Moksha. This is the objective of Krama Diksha. The purva-anga and

uttaranga mantras along with Shodasi / Panchadasi is not given

instantaenously. Purascharana, Tarpana, Homa, Annadana has to be

performed for each and every mantra anushtana. During the later stage

Shodasi is given and later " anandanatha " diksha nama when he becomes

atmakamah.

My limited knowledge makes me understand, some exceptional people are blessed

with divine experiences which probably are much more than what the scriptures

say that they are " entitled " to, going by the sequential initiations that

scriptures say is required for chaturvida purushArthA phala and mokshA.And when

SHE has decided to confer the grace, then initiation into any particular manthra

doesnt seem to be criteria for HER. avyAjakaruNAmUrthI that SHE is.

 

And these people probably will not say it, kaNdavar viNdilar.....some are

probably members of this group..

 

may be the bhakthi of a person to one particular devi smarUpa makes HER give

everything to that person... ignoring the

water-tight-compartmentalised-initiated-manthra-based phala..

 

Sriram, this is all that the " common-(non)sensical logical " approach

that my mind can think of on this.. as i am not knowledgible in any of

the scriptures of any worth.

Scholars and mahaapurushaas often have a tendency to talk from the level of

their understanding based on their research or experiences.

 

And Sometimes they are so immersed in their level, they have a difficulty

relating to ordinary people.

 

And sometimes they say things which are ten steps away, while we may still have

to go through all the nine steps to understand the tenth.

 

And sastras are our guide, exceptions just enforce it.

 

And until we become an exception ourselves, we have to follow our guru parampara

which does not violate the sastras.
