Guest guest Report post Posted April 16, 2007 Meeting my fellow disciples was a strange experience - exhilarating but disappointing. Nice, emotional people, more devotees than disciples, who considered their Guru a provider of instant solutions for puny little problems of their day-to-day lives rather than an ocean of boundless knowledge that leads to salvation and completeness. When I asked Gurudev about why those people left everything on him instead of working to find their answers, he replied, " Because it's easier. They suffer because of their wrong deeds and expect me to rid them of their pain. They are weak, comfort-seekers incapable of handling the intensities of higher Sadhanas. They might not carry on my legacy. Still, I love them and I must pay for their sins even if it means sacrificing my own life. " I touched his feet with a promise never to be part of that mob.
