Teacher authorization/certification

How do you go about getting authorized or certified to teach Ashtanga?

I've read a few websites that even if you train with a certified

teacher, you cannot become certified or authorized yourself unless you

train under SKP Jois in Mysore, India. Is this true, and if so, how

hard is it to get into/do? Are there any other avenues to teaching?
