I have a question, possibly dumb lol

I know what Khalsa means. What I don't know, is it like adding MD

after a persons name? Is the person now Mr or Mrs Khalsa? Khalsa is

now their last name or do they retain the Mr. Singh and the Mrs./Mz. Kaur?

 

How are they greeted? Depending on what one is reading, they are

either Khalas or Kuar and Singh or both. It is very puzzling to me

and I have wondered and wondered what or which is correct.
