Regarding Mantras and Meditation Cd's

There seem to be an endless number of Mantras.

Is this true, or are there a finite number?

 

I have been listening to many samples of mantra CD's and have found

that often they have the same mantras on them which leads me too

believe that there are a limited number, or at least a selection of

core mantras.

 

Is there any where I could get a comprehensive list of all of them,

or at least of the main/most common ones?

Also, the pronunciation and meaning of the mantras?

And, though the mantras are the same they are often sang too

different melodies, is this important?

There is a list with meaning of the primary mantras used in Kundalini yoga is

the back of each of my yoga manuals. (www.yogatech.com)

 

Different melodies or monotone are usually interchangeable. We usually pick

what we like the best personally.
