DEAR SRIVAISHNAVAS,

KURESA VIJAYAM 16 - “Vyasa Became a Pillar as he took the Vowâ€

Veda Vyasa proclaimed with his two hands lifted over his head that Sri Mahavishnu is the Supreme Lord. At that time he became motionless like a pillar as he uttered a wrong Pratigna (Pledge). Hence Shiva is the Lord of Universe, claimed the Saivas.

Vyasam Athishtanam…..

In order to expound the true connotations of Vedhas, Sriman Narayana instilled His Adhishtana (Powers ) and created Sri Vedha Vyasa. That’s why it is stated as

“Vyasaya Vishnu Roopaya …â€.

At the beginning of each Kalpa, Devathas such as Shiva and Brahma are Created by Sriman Narayana and during Pralaya, they are destructed by Sriman Narayana. At that time only Narayana Exixts. This is clearly avowed clearly in upanishads which exclaims.

“Ekohavai Narayana Aaseeth Na Brahma Nesaanahaâ€

Mahopanishad Statement:

“Narayana ParamBrahma thathvam Narayanap para:â€

Narayana is the Supreme Brahma. So compiling all the Vedha Vakyas which utters Narayana Parthva, Sri Vedhavyasa stood in the river at Kasi Kshethra raising his hands,

Took a Pledge as ..

“Sathyam Sathyam puna: sathyam uthdridhya buja muchyathe

Vedhasasthrath param naasthi na deivam Kesavath param..â€

There is no Sasthra superior to Vedhas and likewise there is No Supreme God than Kesava..

When Vyasabagavan did this Prathigna, Nandhi (chariot of Shiva) could not tolerate this truth and started to Torture him due to Nandhi’s Thamasa Guna.

At that time Hanuman (Who is an amsa of Shiva) came to that spot, got furious over this issue and kicked the Nandhi in its face. Nandhi’s Tooth were shattered.

Then in order to propagate this incident, Hanuman ordered the Vishnu Bhakthas to sculpture an Ox, named Ganga and engrave Hanuman’s Vigraha in its forehead to depict this fact. This can be seen evidently in Kasi Kshethra even now.

Sri Parasara Baghavan who delivered Sri Vishnu Purana says..

“Yadha Sarveshu Vedheshu nasthi Narayanath para:

Thadha Sarveshu Manthreshu namanthro Ashthaksharathpara:â€

As there is no Supreme Lord than Narayana, there is no superior Manthra than Ashtakshra..

Sri Sukamaharishi advices Parikshith that

“Alodya sarva sasthrani vicharayasapuna: puna:

Idhametham sunishppannam dhyeyo Narayanssadha:â€

After an exhaustive study of Vedhas many times, it is evident that

Sriman Narayana is Lord who is to be meditated as HE is the Karanavasthu (Creator).

Shiva preaches Umadevi at Kasi Kshethra that

“ Sri Rama Rama ramethiYethath karyam samuchyathe

Yathe athastham janakinamam param Brahma vinichithamâ€

Janaki natha Sri Rama is the ParamBrahma and this is stated in Vedhas..

Bagavtha Bidhayana has written in his Bodhayana Vruthi that..

“Narayansamo nanyas sarvalokeshuvidhyathe

Thasmathapyathigatha†kaschit kvapi nasthi kesavathâ€

Sriman Narayana is incomparable and there is no one equal or Supreme to Him.

Hence Kesava is the LORD of the Universe.

“Manushyanam parovipro vipranam paramoyathi:

Brahmesadhi devanam devo Narayana Para:â€

Like Brahmanas who are preeminent among all Humans,

Like the Yathis who are the preeminent among the Brahmanas

Among the demi Gods such as Brahma and Rudhra, Sriman Narayana is the paramount.

Vibhudeya: parachakra chakrath paratharasshiva:

Shivath paratharao Brahma Brahmana paramo Hari:â€

Indra is greatest among devas, Shiva is superior than him,

Brahma surpases shiva and Hari is the superlative.

“Vishnu paramayithyathyaru sobhahuvidhojagu:

Narayana: paramithi yajurvedhe cha padhyathe

Vasudeva: parayithi samavedhechageeyathe

Narayana: para bagavan mahopanishathismrutheâ€

Rg Vedha has proclaimed Vishnu as the Paradeva in many instances

Yajur vedha reads that Narayana as the Supreme

Vasudeva’s greatness is written as poem in Samavedha

Narayana’s Para Brahmathvam is insisted many times in Mahopanishad.

If it is true that Vyasa’s hands are freezed as he uttered Vishun’s Parathva,

All the devas including Shivas hands should also got Freezed as they have uttered the same in many prmanas as highlighted above.

Thus Swami refuted the Saiva’s stance.

To be continued………
