Dear All,

Among the SRIVAISHNAVAS Thengalais dont have Maalayapaksham only Vadakalai have it.But all Brahmins have Mahaalayaammavaashya.

From 05.09.2009 Saturday to19.09.2009 is known as PITHRU PAKSHAM and 18.09.2009 is known as Mahalaya Amavasya. On all these days doing TILA THARPANAM plus on any one day offerinf PINDAM or HIRANYA SRARTHAM is considered a MUST. The souls of forefathers are allowed FREEDOM to come to EARTH to receive the offerings from their near and dear ones.Including the friends/ and pets at home which are not alive can be offered TIL WATER. In fact upto DIWALI AMAVASYA the souls have the freedom to come and accept if one fails to get any offerings by 19.09.2009.Message 6689 contains the pithru Mantras. Same thing applies now too.TRC
