Guest guest Report post Posted December 19, 2009 RAJJU PORUTHAM – Is this important while matching birth charts of girl and boy for marriage considerations among Ten Poruthams usually considered?                                  Â\                              – Deena, Malaka.  Many Astrologers consider ‘Rajju Porutham’ is considered highly essential, as this absence could cause early widowhood/ separation to girl or boy when married. Normally in Ten Poruthoms, about 5 to 6 will be found favorable while the rest could be moderate in ‘compatibility’ charts. That is, if points range from 20 to 30 out of 36 points could easily be considered ‘acceptable’.  There are five types of Raju as listed below: 1.    Pada Rajju : - Aswathi, Makha, Moola, Aslesha, Jyesta and Revati 2.    Ooru Rajju (Thight): - Bharani, Pooram, Pooradam, Poorvahsada, Pushya, Anuradha, and Uthrabadhrapada (Uttirattadhi). 3.    Nabhi (Navel) Rajju : - Krittika, Uttiram (uttiraphalguni), Uttiradam (Uttarashada), Punarvasu, Viskha and Poorattathi (Poorvabadrapada). 4.    Kanda Rajju : - Rohini, Hastha, Sravana, Ardra (Thiruvathirai), Swati, and Sathayam. 5.    Siro Rajju : - Mirgasheera, Chittira, and Dhanishta (Avittam).  Among these, Siro Rajju and Kanda Rajju are said to be as highly inauspicious and alliances between boys and girls , whose stars come under the same TWO Rajjus as above, (In modern social conditions results in separation) could cause death of husband and wife respectively early. Nabi Rajju – affliction and loss of children. Ooru Rajju – financial loss / perennial married condition of poverty. Pada Rajju – expensive travels with problems/ unnecessary shift of location of stay.  Rules for causing exceptions: 1.    If Janma Rasis of the boy and of the girl are one and same Planet, or mutual friends, or respective Janma Rasis are in mutual ‘Sama-Sapthama’ positions, the horoscopes could be matched in spite of all said five Doshas. 2.    As quoted frm “Jathaka Alankara†– AROHA RAJJU-STHAVAROHA RAJJU PANIGRAHE MANGALA MATHANOTHI – there is no Rajju Dosha, and alliance between the girl and boy is deemed good and auspicious. That is, if the stars of the boy and girl are in the same Rajju, if one is in the ascending order and another in the descending order, the match could be considered. 3.    Some authors in Astrology recommended that, if Dina Potutham, Mahendra Porutham, and Rasyadipa Porutham are found between the prospective pair for marriage is traced, even while there is no Rajju Porutham, as under rules above, the match could be approved.  This article is submitted to all to bring awareness to those who are matching charts for marriage, to give importance to ‘Rajju Porutham’.  Pathi (19 December 2009)
