Food+Drinking Habits PART-1 (Hot Tea & Mars) - To Lakshmi

Dear Sister,

if i recollect your chart which i saw in Mumbai conf. you have Guru

in Dhanu Lagna with Moon creating powerful Gaj-kesari yoga. i feel

the strong influence of powerful gajkesari yoga may have averted the

influence of mars and might have turned your liking towards 'Sweet;

soft & more satwik food.

Dear Utpal Namaste

I have Mars in the Mesha lagna. I was never fond of taking tea or

coffee(two cups per day). For last five years I have stopped taking Tea

and for last 2 years coffee as well. For last five years my body is

nicotineless as well. What do you say?

Another question which would be appropiate to this disscussions and

was troubling me for quite a long time.Can you (all) tell me analysing

Sanjayji's chart,why he smokes? Inspite of Satvik enviorment in this

life he still gets into this tamas. Has he carried it from his past

life? AL in D-60 is aspected by all malefics! Mars aspecting Lagna

and Rahu aspecting lagna lord moon. The moon is 3rd from AL and hence

may show death due to disease related to lungs! What do you say?

I knew already that you had Mars in Ruchaka yoga in Lagna & waiting for your inputs which i was sure of coming sooner or later.

as regarding Sanjayji, I may not look in to D60 as i am yet not confident myself to coment by reading D60.

But i am trying to answer your first question by looking at Rahi chart.

Only thing I can see is that, Lagna has a Meena Rashi which is considered as Very senstive sign and which is prone to get influenced by Surroundings.

Now Though Meens has strong Jupiter forming Hamsa Yoga, It is aspected By Shani (actually controlled by Shani with 3rd aspect who is also AK) and Mars placed in Maran Karka sthana. Now Lagna & Lagnesha both are strongly influenced by Rahu-Ketu & Mars with RASHI Drashti as well.

hence summing up, Lagna & Lagnesha with the influence from Nodes, Saturn & Mars are bound to influence him However Guru's own house placement has really really saved him & surrounding atmosphere.

Namaste Utpal Bhai,

What an incredible memory! It’s simply beyond me how

you could remember a chart you have observed barely

for 5-10 minutes way back in January! Care to share

the secret with me :--)) because I have an abominable

memory, especially for names and charts!

Your observation about Gaja kesari rings true because

despite having all malefic associations (Saturn in

lagna, Mars-AK and Rahu aspect the lagna) to which the

lagna lord and moon are equally exposed…my

tastes/habits remain moderate. As Bharat ji had

mentioned, perhaps the water sign (Pisces) rising

makes guruji more vulnerable and a fire sign as lagna

makes me more immune/resistant? Have you investigated

this interesting possibility?

registered in to BAD SECTORS of My Memory Hard disk. that is the only

Dear Prabodh, namaste

So you think that all those yogis are wrong to smoke? Gajananan Maharaj and Shirdi Sai used to smoke the chillum if I am not mistaken. Do you think that if one smokes, that is a tamasic act? It is all in the mind that these gunas are created. A person who is steeped in satva guna will remain so even if he smokes. I have met some chain smokers and they are all well behaved, intelligent....so on.

I wonder why no one has dragged the shodasamsa (D-16) into this discussion. Wont it show the desires of the mind, especially what it craves/dislikes?

Dear Hari Namaste

I agree that Sanjay ji is in Satva guna inspite of being invloved in

heavy smoking. What about astrological reasoning for that? Lets not

get into the debate whether smoking is satva or tamas. Let me say in a

different way. It is usually seen that the person who is good at

vedas,Purans and other Dharmik shahstras keeps himself away from

smoking. Sanjay ji is excpetion to this. This is what I want to reason

out astrologically.

So my basic quetion is why Sanjay ji smokes? Please give your

valuable inputs Hari ji.

aap aur aapke kutumb ko Shubh Ganesha Chaturthi! You have caught me squarely in a bind as I dont have JHora installed on my office computer so I will have to borrow some time in this regard before I can revert on this matter.

Lakshmi: How did you get the birth data of Shirdi Sai Baba? As per Sai charitra, no one knows how Sai came to Shirdi much less where he was born or how he was raised. As I write this, I have a beautiful calendar photo of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in all his magnificent glory (of his statue on the silver throne above the samadhi) and remember the powerful vibrations emanating from the samadhi. I will nevertheless take a look....2nd lord in maranakarakasthana....hmm...maybe something worthwhile here. But remember Guruji's words: the breathing mechanism stretches all the way from the 2nd house to 4th house. Dare I say that Ketu is the karaka for smoking?

Prabodh: the specific practices depend on the natha or dasasampradaya into which the yogi or swami is initiated. Who are the so-called experts to tell that this is right or wrong unless they are privy to the practices followed in the tradition? Will revert on your request later. But dont call me ji or say that my comments are valuable. It is all maya.

Dear Richa

The lagna with the two planets show contradictory influence. Moon promising a clean food habit which was strong in childhood and Mars showing its colors fom the 16th year. Perhaps Naisargika dasa should give us a clue. Utpal is very right about seeing both lagna and 2nd house for taste. If there are planets in lagna then they will dominate the taste else the planets in the 2nd house will dominate. Sometimes planets in 12th house also have influence on taste. The influence of planets in 2/12 house is based on the definition of Subha/Asubha yoga. Please read my paper on Kalpadruma yoga where this has been explained.

This view is also supported in Jataka Tatva.
