Hello Anurag Sharma

 

Our horoscope cast based on birth time reveal what is in

store for us which cannot be changed. Whereas Muhurtha is

prescriptive and tells how to undertake ventures at an

auspicious time so that it can support birth indications.

 

Muhurtha alone cannot change destiny meaning if birth

horoscope indicate severe afflictions, no muhurtha can

prevent it. It is equivalant to 48 minutes (2 ghatis).

 

There are specific rules for selecting muhurthas for

specific occasions. Briefly consider pancha anga, tarabala,

chandrabala, Panchaka(5 sources of energy) , ekavimsati

mahadoshas - remember a case of marriage in Srirengam of

tamil Nadu where fire happened during marriage and the

husband died along with others).

 

For marriage certain lunar months, lunar days , vara,

contellations, Yogas and certain zodiacal signs are

prescribed. Planetary position is also important for

example 7th house should not have any planets.

 

This is another subject by itself.
