Mark & all, I

agree so wholeheartedly. I found jyotish interesting but not really

necessary until I went into Sade Sathi (when Saturn transits the

12th, 1st and 2nd houses from the house which occupies your moon)

Then it became absolutely vital for me. I can't imagine not having an understanding of jyotish and going through this period. I

Dear Whitney: I know what you

mean. Sade Sat, of course is one of the classic Saturn

periods. Of course there are a number of other Saturn peiords,

Dasas and Transits which may be equally important to understood. Though in truth for some people 'transitions' of Saturn are not

as vital (as for you) as say other Planets's periods.

For example if somebody has Venus or Mercury or Mars as one of their

Malefics then those periods can be equally frustrating.

Though so far we've only been describing the importance of psyching out

negative or malefic periods. I think the

consequences would be devastating and the lessons could be

potentially lost. There's a big distinction in sade sathi because

normally if something is difficult in life you can make changes and it

will get better. In sade sathi, you have to surrender and endure

it...in fact if you try to change anything it only makes it worse.

Its helpful and theraputic to understand this. Once you understand the reason why something is happening...

that is

a remedy in itself. What you've

described here however, is only the unique Remedy or Prescription for

Saturn negative situations. " Surrendering " or

" Accepting " , learning to flow with, letting go, resting,

rejuvenating and transcending are all ways of making one's Saturn less

malefic. And this fits Maharish's declaration that the key to

life is the co-existence of silence along with activity. Of

course the silent part is Saturn and because most people do not have

enough silence in their lives, Saturn then, acts malefically.

But, why? Why did you for example, have a difficult Saturn

Sade Sat? Or why do any people, especially long term

meditators still suffer due to the hands of Saturn? Most

people think it's karmic, but I think it's more then that. It

may be predicted that a rain storm is coming. Just like it may be

predicted that in 2 years we're going to suffer a $ 1,000. bill or

debt coming back to us. So we can think of difficult periods

like this, even Sade Sat, but,.... rhe real lesson is that Nature

and in this case almighty Saturn... are telling us exactly where we

need, even now, MORE SILENCE... This is one of the hardest

things for medittors to understand is that our last stresses are in

direct proportion to our Malefics in our charts. Where

we have our Malefics is where we have our stresses... And

though all of them may be gone in another 30 years of meditating, in the

mean time, Maharishi is encouraging us to do as much as we can to

release these last stresses... So, Yaguas are

recomended. Ayurveda and regular Ayurvedic treatments and healings

are recomended. And yes, even Jyotish is recomeneded.

Jyotish is to the mind, like Ayurveda is to the body.

In an Ayurvedic session an Ayurvedic physician, he feels our pulse and

gives us Vata, Pitta, or Kapha remedies and prescriptions. Eventually we're going to realize that we can go

to a Vedic Psychologist, a Jyotishee, and he can help us

similarly! warmly, Whitney Van

Dear

Friends: Many of you may be aware of the Vedic Science

called Jyotish or Eastern Astrology. It's one of the Vedic

disciplines that's also there to help us evolve. I first became aware of Jyotish after about 18 years of meditating. By then I had become a TM teacher and later Sidha so I was pretty used

to Maharishi describing many of the different aspects of the

Ved. There's yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, Yaguas, and

then Jyotish. I remember when Maharishi first started coming out

with all these non-TM disciplines. I think it was

in the late 1970's. I remember him reviewing the progress of

themovement at the time. He said: " In review it seems everything is going well. Consciousness is unfolding... . " Then he paused,

and then took a small breath and then said: " Now.... I'm wondering if there anything else from Vedic science that we can use to strengthen our progres....? " That for me was the beginning of all these

advanced techniques in consciousness. For many

years I thought they were not as vital as TM but now, I'm beginning

to think they can be just as important. For example,

having learned Jyotish since 1988, when I talk to " meditators " and hear them say: " I don't know why I'm

still struggling. I've been meditating way too long to have to....

think? " I immediately think: " Well, what's in

your chart? " Most meditators have heard of Jyotish.

Though I'll often hear: " Ahh, I'm not sure. " But, when I look at 'their' chart, I see exactly why they're

going through what they're going through. " Well, you know you're still in Saturn dasa period, right? " Or

maybe I'll say, " Well, a year ago you just entered Sade

Sat....? " You know for everyting we're going

through there is a good Jyotish or Astrological reason for it. Over the years then, it occured to me: " Those

meditators who also understand their Astrology seem to be doing

better then those who don't know their Jyotsh... " Mmmmmmmm Now, I realize it's probably true for

all the other Vedic disciplines. Those that do their

Asanas, go to the clinic, practice their Ayurveda, orrrrrrr now,

practice their Jyotish! So, I thought it might be

helpful to tell you all a little bit more about Jyotish. In the future Jyotish is going to have the most powerful effect on

the whole world! This is because

" Jyotish... " as Maharishi has said, is the " eye " of

the Ved! Contained within Jyotish are all the

other Vedic sciences. For example, in the 5th House in

everyone's chart is the House of Education, including mantras. So, people who have good or spiritual 5th Houses along with

other influences, are attracted to mantras. Then,

there's Ayurveda which is looked at by the 6th & 8th Houses. Then, ther'es the Guru, and God, themselves, who is found in our

9th House's! And, finally there's the 12th House

which represents the transcendental reality..... and

experience... So, think of adding the study or utility of Jyotish to your TM

practice! It will change your life... Sincerely, Mark Kincaid markkincaid (AT) (DOT) com www.naturesastrolog y.com
