Guest guest
Mark, I go by Vedic primarily. I use Western for personality stuff, transits mostly. I enjoy the outer planets too. I use Western when someone would rather have a Western report. Hi Sally: see below Timing is off and the functional nature of planets due to dhustana lordship of mool signs are ignored in the West as are planetary periods, nakshatras, remedies etc...so...I stick with the Vedic primarily. It resonates with me better.. It has a more resounding quality for me. Maybe because as it's said, it focuses on the soul rather than the ego...I don't know, that's just my general take or vibe on it. Plus without remedies, what good is it, except as a heads up... I like both for different reasons I guess. Mostly I use the Hindu myself, but the Western I use for fun, for myself, for personal transits. I like Star I Q.com as they use the Moon for readings and they are free, sent to your mailbox;) It's my experience too that Jyotish is more accurate. I've been also an avid reader of Mountain Astrologer, and have especially enjoyed their Jyotish articles and one's recently about the wholedifference between Tropical & Sidereal Astrology.Do you know the Siderealist Kenneth Bowser? He was writen up in their Oct/Nove 2004 issue. Was a very enlightening article about the problems in Western Astrology.I wish you were in my other group, the one. This one is just for receiving myTransit reports. The other 'nature's astrology one': /is where I've been trying to discuss what I consider the best qualities of both the Western & Easternsystems.Would love to get your in-put. In my own experience, the way I see West & East is that the East's mathemathics are more accurate, but I love the Western emphasis on free will and opportunity.Whereas the Eastern system has maintained more rigorous correctedness about the calculations of thebasic chart, the Eastern system however also doesn't believe that much in self-development.You'll hear lip-service to 'remedies' and it's in their Philosophy, but I remember when I first startedstudying Jyotish in 1988, one of the many books I had, would have 195 pages out of 200 on theJyotish and then, at the end, almost tacked on as a kind of after thought;was 5 pages on remedial measures. Now, I understand the deep fatalism of Jyotish is the Eastern system's mistake, and the Westernsystem; indeed Western culture is convincing people in the East that they might re-think that one. I enjoy Pluto transits as put forth by Jeff Green. Aloha, Sally Fun talking with you. Also, do you write any articles on Astrology?I'm creating a new e-magazine called " Nature's Astrology " , and will be looking for good articleson both the Western & Eastern systems. take careMark ps...Oh yes, I'd love to talk to you, personally some time.
