Zodiac Signs and Mark's chart

Mark, just a few notes on your chart because I really want to complete

another one or two sign articles (overdue from last week). The trouble with

lists is that I get into the posts, and then there's no energy left for

other writing. So I generally read mail either early in the morning or in

the evening after my writing is done. This being Sunday, and there have

been so many interruptions today that I'm taking time for these notes.

O.K., There's lots of sidereal Leo: Mercury, Venus, Ketu, Sun. The Sun,

representing wholeness, likes to organize and delegate. Leo is the sign of

the king. The Sun (Leo) ends up being some kind of center for others. You

have your own web site and your own discussion list. (Maybe in other area

of your life you've had this center function also.) Ketu is with the Sun,

however, so this will diminish the Sun's ability to do what it wants to do.

The hoped for response or cooperation from others may not be there. At the

same time, Ketu can give a spiritual outlook toward life, but that doesn't

help Leo to be Leo. (Mercury-Venus conjunction is good for one or more of

the arts--writing included.)

Jupiter is in Pisces opposing the Moon. Pisces is Jupiter's night sign, so

Jupiter will be a bit flowery, airy, out-and-about here. It's Jupiter's job

to create structure and boundaries (sidereal Sagittarius). However in

Pisces, Jupiter will try to mix everything together, which is what you seem

to be trying to do in combining western and eastern astrology. Jupiter is

in Mercury's mansion. This will further confuse Mercury and Jupiter

functions. I think maybe this will manifest as Jupiter taking lots and lots

of parts (Mercury is all those little parts) and trying to put them together.

Einstein had Sun, Mercury, Saturn and Venus in sidereal Pisces. He spent

most of his life looking for a unified field theory. He didn't find it.

(His Mercury/Saturn were in Saturn's mansion, which contributed to his

mathematical ability.)

Before eastern and western astrology can be combined, the parts have to be

defined and tested. This would be Mercury's function. But your Mercury

function is in a bit of trouble, since the poetic Moon (mind) is in Virgo

(Mercury's sign) comjunct Neptune and opposed by Jupiter in Pisces. That

is, the Mercury function of discrimination--first sorting, testing and

placing in categories--which is the foundation of the organized whole--will

be left wanting.

Astrology has a long way to go before it can unify anything.

P.S. As you might have guessed, my Mercury function is very strong and my

Jupiter function much weaker. I have Mercury rising and several planets at

the top of my chart in sidereal Virgo, nothing in Pisces except Ketu.

No matter what the books say, planets in the equal house 12th (that is,

rising over the Eastern horizon, 15 degrees on either side of the ascendant

degree in the 12th sign) are very powerful, almost compulsive in

expression. [Note both the current prez and past President Clinton have

12th house Suns.) You have Moon/Neptune in 12, I have Mercury. Uh,

huh....my Virgo Mars (a very precise and exacting Mars) is conjunct your

Moon-Neptune. You may feel as if I'm doing a fine job of squashing your

nice cuddly Moon/Neptune opposite Jupiter in Pisces.

Cheers and blessings! Now on to those articles...

Therese
