In fact, I was always thinking of Varshapha; system (Tajaka) to be annual progression. However, I wish to have a detailed example of a case. I am trying to contact Sri K.Subramanian of Krishman & Co., but I doubt whether they will have a copy of the old edition of Jany,1972. Thanks a lot to you both. Reading of the chart is as per KP principles. It is only a 'gochara' and is to be necessariily interpolated with birth chart - and d/b/a periods therein. In Western System Progression chart - is cast for the same time by progressing one day for one year of age of the native. Example : DOB 1st Jan 1998 TOB:8:00 a.m - On completion of one year of age i.e, on the birth day of 1st Jan 1999 - a chart is prepared as if the birth took place on 2nd Jan 1998 at 8;00 a.m -NOTE the year is 1998 and not 1999. hence for birth day of 1st Jan 2009 (forth comming year) achart is to be prepared as if the birth took place at 8:00 am on 12th Jan 1998 - Note it is 1998 and not 2009. My friend who is the follower of Vedic and Dr.B.V.Raman's Books explained me about Progression from his Book "VARSHAPHAL" According to him, on the birthday on 1-1-1999 for the person born on 1-1-1988, we are to take Sun's longitude to the same Degree & Minute as it was on 1-1-1998 and the rest of the planetary position same as on 1-1-1999 and analyse the chart for his 1999 year as usual. Now as per your example, we are to take the exact time of birth 8.00 am & not the exact Deg. & Mt.long. of Sun. This has be to be re-verified by me. However, I am thankful to you for the interest taken by you to respond to my query. Mr.R.Dhanabalan has kindly agreed to solve the Progression Chart thro' his SW and I am sending him a chart today. It was developed by late Mr.Mohan and the details are available in "Salem k.p. year book". I have no scanning facility. Our Member Mr.Gopal has scanning facility and he can give it to this forum. It is available in the software "Astro wonder". I have that software. No software has this method except the Astro wonder. It is for study purpose only. Or otherwise you give some other's birth details but you should know the events. The progression chart can be cast for any dates, say for arriage date, child birth date, etc. I can cast and send you the progression chart. But I am not familiar in using the chart for prediction. Mr.Sharma has incorporated in his software Astro Wonder. I do not think that this progression method is available in other softwares. Please see the dasa, bukthi, antharam and sootsama running on that particular date. These are the moon¢s star, sub, sub sub, sub sub sub lord in the progression chart on that date. Apply the same rule to other planets and check the position in progression chart. For Rahu/Ketu, the progression is in the reverse direction. In this software, the progression for Rahu/Ketu is correct upto 80 years and beyond that there is an error in calculation. I have informed to the software developer to rectify the mistake. The calculation for other planets are correct. It need not be a rectified one. It is for study purpose only. Or otherwise you give some other's birth details but you should know the events. The progression chart can be cast for any dates, say for arriage date, child birth date, etc. I can cast and send you the progression chart. But I am not familiar in using the chart for prediction. It's supported in KPAstro 3.0 with Vimshotari dasa calculation. I don't know what is the progression based on vimsothari dasa.
