Dear Mrs. Wendy and other respected Astrologers of this group,

I recently came across the concept of : Pushkaramsa / Pushkar Navamsa.

A planet is supposed to be in a even better state compared to exaltation /

moolTrikona, if it is placed in a Pushkaramsa. A higher qualification to the

planet. I found a snippet , which directly says :

Pushkara degrees are :

21º of Fire signs: 21º Aries, 21º Leo, and 21º Sagittarius (Venus

nakshatras)

14º in Earth signs: 14º Taurus, 14º Virgo, and 14º Capricorn (Moon

nakshatras)

24º in Air signs: 24º Gemini, 24º Libra, and 24º Aquarius (Jupiter

Nakshatras)

7º in Water signs: 7º Cancer, 7º Scorpio, 7º Pisces (Saturn nakshatras)

Please share your knowledge on this topic.

Where do we specifically use this concept ? is it limited to certain

Divisional charts / only certain predictions.

What are the effects of it.

Would be pleased if you people share your experience here.

Thanks in advance,

phani

Dear Phani,

I had given all the details of Pushkaramsha/Navamsha in " SOHAMSA " group. If

you are a member of that group, you can read all the messages.Vidya

Madhaveeyam,Chandra Kala Nadi mentions about Pushkara Navamsha very

frequently. What you mentioned is Pushkara Bhagas or degrees but we can

consider those degrees in one Navamsha, say Meena 7 Degress can be seen as

between 6 degs.40' and 10 Degs which falls in Kanya Navamsha which is called

as Pushkara Navamsha and is very auspicious.Kanya is the exaltation sign of

Budha,so any planet in this particular Navamsha will become very

auspicious.Even malefic planets reduce their evi effects and try to give

good results.

I have explained about Pushkara Navamsha in Vedic-Astrology

somewhere in 2002/2003.

I hope this helps you.

With Regards,

Ramadas Rao.

Dear Phani,

Reference to Pushkara degrees can be found in Jataka Parijata Adh.1

(sloka 58). Immediately following the reference to Mrityu bhaga degrees

in the previous sloka (57).

Adh. V11 (sloka 25) says;

" When Jupiter in conjunction with Mars and the Moon occupies a Vargottama

or a Pushkaramsa the person born is a king....etc.. "

To the best of my knowledge Pushkara degrees, like Mrityu bhaga degrees,

are not automatically considered in a general reading unless there are

other strong indications in horoscope to warrant it. Although these

degrees add a dimension to the horoscope, it's usually (only) in the

instance of grave health concerns that attention is drawn to mrityu

bhaga, or in matters concerning auspicious rise in some area of life that

attention is drawn to pushkaramsa etc..

Most do (generally) consider vargottama however in their general reading.

Komilla Sutton has written a fairly comprehensive article that you might

find helpful.

http://www.komilla.com/pages/Pushkara2of2.html

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Ramadas Rao,

Whilst your contribution is very much appreciated, I do think it's not a

good idea to refer members to discussions/articles on other groups. We're

a small community here and really don't base our discussions (I hope) on

what happens in other groups. One regular contributor to this group was

recently banned for lifting posts from JV archives and posting them on

another group with negative comments...this was totally unethical.

I have no doubt whatsoever that directing members here to

discussions/articles on other groups was done with the best of

intentions, however I would prefer this not to happen.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear All,

great that you people take time to share your knowledge. And i

appreciate the effort you people put, to dig out articles for reference :).

I would definitely jump into SOHAMSA and Vedic Astrology groups, to search

for you posts, Ramadas Sir. Mrs. Wendy, the article you cited was very much

helpful. A few clarifications again :

1 ) Article never talks of Rahu / Ketu.I have seen, in general, all

calculations, considerations go the 'reverse' for these two planets. Does it

hold here also ?

Ex :Fire Sign : Pushkar Navamsa : 26 deg to 30 deg 00 Sag Navamsa.

For Rahu / Ketu it comes out to be : 0 to 4 Deg ?? in

the opposite direction ?

2 ) As such I see, no special results based on this Pushkar Degrees But it

would help us in micro-analysis, in case debilitation of a planet is

disturbing us. So the health / situation of planet is lot bettered by his

location.

3 ) Mrs. Wendy you have my birth details :

Phani, 01: 23 : 30 am , Mar 9th 1986, 81E 23' And 16 N 36 ' , India.

Could you please confirm whether i have any such auspicious planetary

location.

I feel Mercury and Sun qualify ?? look at Rahu + Ketu also.

Me is 10th Lord, and he is in NeechBhanga Raj Yoga. So what does that

say ?

Dear Uttara Madam, as i said earlier, the purpose is to question about

things, and then experiment these ans on my chart. As i know of myself - and

my events, makes it easy to comprehend.

thanks all people,

phani

It really depends whether you adhere to Jataka Parijata or to CS Patel ??

Like many things in Jyotish there is a significant difference.

As it does seem, from earlier post, that Ramadas Rao has studied this in

depth, it would probably be best to seek his opinion at this point.

Dear Phani,

In this case, I don't think one should subtract Rahu's longitude by 30. The

question is at what degree a particular planet is located and not how much

it is traversed in that sign.

It appears that you have rectified your birth time. Could you share your

recorded birth time?

Regards,

Krishna

Dear Krishna Sir,

My recorded birth time is 01: 20:00 AM, and given that i started my

astrology learning last year since Oct 2008, i tried to link up this dasa

with 8H in D24 etc. I am a kiddo in astrology :) So please provide any

inputs, advise in case u find something.

As for other things, Mrs.Wendy I did not know the history of " other

" getting into this one,and i apologise in case i didnt comply

with the rules here. No wrong intentions here :)

Dear Ramadas Sir,

Please take note of the queries i have put in. I do feel Krishna Sir is

right, in that Rahu / Ketu should be placed in the prescribed longitude,

rather than the 'traversed' degrees.

thanks,

phani

Dear Phani,

If you care for my advice, it is too early for you to attempt rectification

using divisional charts. It requires great understanding of this science and

even experts with tens of years of experience could falter while attempting

rectification this way.

I am attempting rectification in a totally different way, one may not need

great expertise in delineating charts to use this method. Your chart looks

like a very interesting case for my rectification method. Thanks for sharing

your recorded birth time. I need more charts of this type to prove a point.

I will keep searching.

I can only tell you that your rectification is most probably incorrect. It

appears that you have moved in the opposite direction in time. I will give

your rectified time once I get a confirmation of what I am looking for.

Regards,

Krishna

Dear Krishna Sir,

I do respect your time and advice. As i said

before, being a beginner, i am toying with my horoscope, trying to know

myself a bit better - thats it ! am not getting into any professional /

commercial astrology. Just intrested in different parts of Occult knowledge

- and astrology is my first step towards that. With my career goals,, family

etc i am sure i wont be able to dedicate even a bit of time for this intrest

of mine, so taking out sometime now - durign weekends. :)

As for my horoscope - am open for any discussion abt all Yogas, Good / Bad

or anything about that. And would be a lot more happier if you can make

people learn the BirthTime Rectification method you have researched. I can

provide feedback on my life events in case you are looking for that.Mrs

Wendy sure has a good bunch of eligible astrologers here, and we can make

the most out of it. :)

thanks,

phani

Dear Phani,

Jyotish-Vidya's purpose is to help all members study and understand

the different techniques of Parasara. Often members will put forth

their charts to learn and comprehend on a particular point or

technique once they have a knowledge of their chart and can contribute

in the dicussion as a student from Vedic knowledge for all to learn

from. This is widely encouraged.

However, there is a fine line. One must be careful not to use their

chart as an example of questioning in the form of gaining a personal

reading to better understand themselves. This is not the goal of

Jyotish-Vidya and does go against the quidelines for membership. I

point this out because we all want to understand ourselves better but

personal readings to be accurate and purposeful for any member is

better left to a professional reading outside of JV.

In regards to your chart, lets take one technique or question you have

for better understanding to question, with knowledge that you have of

same, to be part of the study and discussion. From there ((once you

have some command of your chart)) you can bring forth another meaning

of delineation in your chart for clarification. JV is a great learning

forum in this regard and all members gain from the queries put forward.

Phani, I am sure you understand and realize in the big picture that ??

and others have been refused to post or have lost their privileges to

post if the guidelines of JV are not follow. (Please see the homepage

for further knowledge.)It is unfortunate, but is only fair for all. As

a whole we all need to remember too, to respect all members generosity

and boundaries who give of their time and energy freely as a study and

learning forum of Parasara.

We do have many fine astrologers here on JV that can be contacted

privately to find who are interested in doing personal readings or can

suggest whom to contact. Also, on the Jyotish-Vidya Website there are

listed astrologers that advertise their services for this purpose.

There are also Libraries (free) and the Internet to purchase books to

begin study with your chart in hand. Along with free and paid services

to do online study courses at your own time and energy. However, an

overall professional general personal reading is the best way to get

started with accurate information you can branch from for greater

clarification and self awareness.

As Always,

Uttara

Dear Uttara Madam,

I sincerely agree, and realise what you have

said above,I agree that these rules help you run this forum better. :) Did

not mean this to be a one - one discussion / a thread for my personal

horoscope reading. I dont intend to become a professional astrologer myself,

just learning it for my intrest. So no question of taking any undue

advantage of this forum. When i learn, read books by myself or from articles,

i have seen that most of the time all topics have material scattered over

different websites. So i intend to ask experienced people - once i do my

initial homework, to get more clarity. Else i would have raised a private

thread, asking for personal readings, but thats not the intention.

I dont wish to break any rules here, and in case you feel i did, i apologise

for that.

So let us get back to the topic, whats your take on Pushkar Navamsa ? :)

thanks,

phani

Dear Phani Sir,

In Shri. Narendra Modi's horoscope, planet saturn occupied Pushkaramsa.  May be the sade saathi of saturn transit will go in his favour because of the same.
