Dear Jim,

I have learned from Visti that Mars in 5H, in Navamsa, gives knowledge of cooking.

Would be grateful for any further input from Gurus.

Jim, most humbly,I also take exception that all females should have this combination. Men can be equally adept. It does seem though that both approach the society in different ways regards cooking abilities.

Sharat

||Om Krishna Guru ||Dear Jyotisha's,Namaskar,Just saw Rafal Guruji's email regarding Marriage Quiz and my questionwhich I had in my mind since ages , am asking now. What combination makes one a good cook.I have 2 charts which are very nice in cooking.I would like to study this combo. All females must have this combination on general level , some malesalso have.I feel this will have some clue of,1)Jupiter,Venus and Chandra in artha trikona and IN NAVAMSA.I stress Navamsa as cooking is natural ability. All three are food planets but there must be some aspect or yuti ofplanets who actually cooks.I dont know which graha should be taken for cooking[karaka forcooking] but its must be mars or sun[firy planets]Pranam,Best Wishes,Jim.

Dear Sharat,

Namaste

Taurus indicates the kitchen. Mars in it would make one a good cook. A gourmet chef with Moon in the 3rd. These are the two I can think of.

Dear Swee Ji,

Namaskar,

Your point also makes sense , my brother who is twin has Mars in

Taurus but 11th from Lagna alongwith Mercury for Cancer Navamsha Lagna

and he cooks well.

But to surmise quickly is one should look at Mars in Navamsha,

10 from Lagna gives abilities to cook ,

Even 5th from D9 lagna as per Visti.

Also some yoga as mentioned by Rafal Guru.

So main significators as Moon and Mars in Navamsha.

Dear Rafel,

When was your sisters marriage. Based on your brother in laws chart I

feel that marriage might have been conducted between april 2005 thru

mars 2006 and about 16th thru 29th Aug 2005 is the first strong

probable date.

Can you please give the date of marriage.

Classics say if it is not indicated in the rasi, look at the 10th in navamsa. I gather you are talking about a professional chef and not one who is good at cooking?

Dear Rafal,

A Pearl merchant too ;) the pearl is grounded into a paste, mixed with other gemstones and herbs as curative for skin problems etc. In the Mahabharata, the allegory is given as to why Moon presides over consumption.

Dear Rafal, Swee,

Yes, Mangal is definitely important. But, the karaka for thrid

house is Mangal. Hence, can we say Mangal is involved in an

indirect way when Moon is in the third house?

Krishna

Dear Rafal and Swee,

The reference to the 3rd house as you know is to do with the skills of the hand and we are not looking at profession from here at present. So do we look at Moon in the 3rd for bureaucrats and pearl merchants? I dont think so. Maybe in the 6th and the 10th or in the dasamsa.

om gurave namahDear Anand and everyone else n this thread,Cooking for oneself is due to circumstances and cooking as a hobby is another thing altogether. God has been kind nd I have never cooked for myself and if I had to do so, I am sure sooner or later I would start relsihing my cooking, more out of habit than any culinary ability. Cooking as a profession is another thing altogether and for this one may not enjo the cooking as much as a hobbyist does.Once we are clear about that we need to look at vargas and charts. If you are enjoying it as a hobby, the Moon is normally in the 3rd house and cooking food using the three items of rice, salt and water causes *Maha Bhagya Yoga* and will surely bring the blesings of Sri Krishna, especially if the food is offered to a good brahmin. That is for the rashi chart. Such people enjoy cooking, make excellent dishes, have great reecipies and are really a blessing to this world of people like me who like to eat.

Coming to navamsa, the trines does show personal abilities and that is why Visti was talking about trines in navamsa. But it will be tough to differentiate between a fighter Mars and a cook mars in trines in navamsa...or maybe the best fighters are also the best cooks like Bhima!

Tenth house in navamsa and cooking. How? If Mars is in the tenth house, the native is good at dance, entertainment and such things as related to Venus and shall also have an eye for detail. He gets angry quickly and also cools down quickly and cannot keep things in heart if Guru is strong. If a malefic is in the 4th then he can be very vengeful instead.

Dasamsa, yes is an important part of looking at professional cooks who will cook their way to heaven as this is svarga-amsa! Now, let us see what things are required - first Saturn for service and then Moon for cooking as service.Best WishesSanjay Rathhttp://srath.com http://jiva.us http://siva-edu-com http://sagittariuspublications.com http://thejyotishdigest.com http://.org-----Original Message-----sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of Anand RaviSunday, April 15, 2007 3:40 PMsohamsa Subject: Re: Re: Good at cooking.Shivaya namahDear sarbani ji and swee ji,I have mars in 8th house (tarus) along with ketu. |Om Shreenivasaya Namah|

|Om Lakshmyai Namah|

Dear Sanjay Ji & learned members,

The following chart (birth data withheld) is that of a professional chef who serves basically corporate clientele or even more broadly speaking, works in Venusian settings.

The Rashi Chart is as follows: Vrishabh Lagna, Chandra in 2nd House, showing that cooking is not really a hobby. Budh, Mangal and Ketu in the 4th House. Surya in the 5th, Guru and Shukra in the 6th, Rahu in the 10th and Vakri and Neecha Shani in the 12th House.

The feedback was that though the native had risen in the profession from obscurity, a lot of struggle was involved in the growth in work. This was explained by the 10th Lord Saturn being in debility and retrograde.

In Navamsha, Meena Lagna rises with exalted Shukra in it and Mangal in the 7th House.

I had rectified the horoscope either last year or the year before last when my opinion had been sought. There was very slight uncertainty regarding the birth time.

In order to explain the professional cooking, I had rectified the Dashamsha Chakra thus, and the principles have been stated by Sanjay Ji in his email. The basic idea was to have a Graha in the 6th House that indicated cooking.

In the D-10, Meena Lagna rises with Chandra in the 6th House, aspected by Shani from Makar, Shukra and Rahu from the 2nd and Ketu from the 8th. The native wanted to be guided about the potential prospects regarding alternatives in a service career versus business.

The very strong 6th House influenced by Shani shows a strong service career as a chef. Moon in the 6th indicates cooking. The motivation could be to have a leadership role in the catering/ restaurant sector shown my Rahu and Shukra in Mesha Rashi in the 2nd House. The Yoga could show aspirations of having a very sophisticated place of one's own (Venus and Rahu) which would be capable of catering to foreign clientele (Rahu) and end up with a leadership position (Mesha).

The aspirations are confirmed from Lagna Lord, 7th Lord and 2nd and 9th Lord placed in the 12th House.

Regards,

Anurag Sharma
