gurudeva,

The reasons for my stopping palmistry are:

1. I was not able to tell much after spending some 1 or 2 hrs reading

the palms. Looking at some palms, things strike my mind and some hands

do not tell out much. I felt it would be defficult to be a professional

palmist.

For example, for one of my juniors, I could read from his palm that

his grand father would loose his property at particular age and would be

show much interest in his grand mother. It was correct. But, I could not

tell much about his future. Often I had this problem. So, it depended a

lot on the palm which I see. What is the use of it if I can not tell what

the client is interested in. If a person comes asknig about his job prospects,

I should be able to tell about his job prospects and not what strikes my

mind.

2. I got myself convinced that palm reveals more of what the native

want to do rather than what is in store for the native.

At my college, I read one of my friends palm, and read his palm (like

change of schools, getting of scholorship) very correctly.

But, I predicted he would go into cevil services (at that time we were

doing our master degree). He was very happy and thanked me. It happened

that it was his dream (none in the hostel knew, he had been preparing whole

heartedly for nearly one year for getting in to CEVIL services!!). But,

at the end of the ecodematical year, he simply joined in a software company.

3. It is very much time conjuming. The timing methodology I followed

was really time consuming. Gradually, I started using Horary technics when

the palm was not revealing much to me. After read some palms for 3 hours,

I could not give reading. And this has pushed me away from palmistry.

4. Slowly as my astrological knowledge improved, I started using horary

technics to tell fortunes when the palm was not telling me much. Slowly,

I realized that in astrology, I can try to answere the client in what ever

he is interested. Palmistry does not have these many of tools.

5. Timing was another factor. In palmistry, I could never time events

very confidantly, I used to add a buffer of 1 year that side and this side.

6. My brother convinced me that astrology is much supirior and I gave

in. (Of course, he never told me to stop palmistry).

7. Lack of sincere individuals seeking my plamistry service. While studying,

I have lot of class mates and I oblised any one seeking me reading for

fun also. As I wanted to see hands for my learning sake. But, now I days,

I am not getting so much of time and wanted only serious ones. I am also

tied down due to job.

Reasons for forgetting are perhaps different. I did not have a palmistry

Guru. I read some books by Chiro and a book by Sri Chandi Das after I got

a good touch with palmistry. I learn it mainly by trail and error.

My father is a reknown astrologer, once I was forced by my relatives

(they assumed I know palmistry) to read thier palms. After failing to convince

them about my ignorance, I took one palm and gave away some readings about

thier palm (From line of education, I guessed three main accindents the

native suffered (near death experiance) with the correct ages). After unjustified

success, I went home and told the whole story to my father and my father

told it must be due to vakbalam, and told me what line is what, and what

are the mounts. That is my foundation. After that, I read palms the way

my mind driven me and

after some consistant readings, I read books I mentioned above.

As I used to experiment with my own methods, unless, I used same method

often, I tend to forget it. Basically, my way of looking at it is like

this: If hand has some saying, the method will strike my mind. I should

have been documenting what I experimenting. Then, I may not have forgot

it.

I started palmistry around 1991-92 and almost stopped it in 1997.

While practicing, I used a string (normal string) and a scale and at

times calculator. I gave lot of importance to turns in lines.

With blessings from elders and teachers like you and my father, I can

do justice to the solomon line I have on my palms.

I will start it again.

Best regards,

Vijay.

Dear Vijay,Why did you stop palmistry? And the reasons for forgetting

are because you did not have the blessings of your Guru in this. Now, seek

his directions (personally) and start palmistry again. do you have the

instruments for this (measuring instruments if you have seen/used them

earlier). Then write and we can discuss this subject. perhaps i can help

with my meagre knowledge. With Best wishessanjay Rath

palmistry

There are some mentions in :My Experiances in Astrology" by late

Sri B.V.Raman about some methods of getting lagna from thumb etc.

I tried to proceure book by Sri RG Rao, but learnt that it is out of

print (Ranjan Publications).

I tried to use palmistry to get horoscope with little success. I used

to try relationship between planets from palm.

My theory was simple: If a mount is tiltet and close to another mount,

it shows mutual relationship. If the closeness is mutual, then it is probably

aspect, or else it is by means of owning rasi or stat.

Also, lines (less significant lines) from one mount to other show some

relationship between planets.

At times, I had success in telling the paksham and tithi correctly from

palm. But, I do not remember how I used to see that.

I left practicing palmistry for a long time (nearly 3 years now).

Regards,

Vijay.

I have heard that time of

birth can be ascertained from a thumb print? Does anyone know if

this is true or has anyone had this done? No.

It is not true, the thumb impression is the 'address' of the native. The

palm leaves are archived on the basis of thumb impression. After

taking the thumb impression, they search the archive and bring a bunch

of related leaves. Then, they take each set of leaves and ask many questions

from the set. We should say yes or no. After identifying the set of leaves

pertaining to the native, they do the readingI

disagree with Solai. Please read the book on determining the horoscope

from your thumb by R.G.Rao. In fact with a detailed study of the palm,

I also can place some of the planets in houses on the basis of astro-palmistry.

I think l R Chowdhry has done some good work in this line.

Respected professor,

Namasthe.

Some people consider that, the mounts & lines on the

palm are connected to their horoscope.

Is the concept valid?

Thank you for your valuable time.

Regards

Balaji

Hello Balaji,

The strength is visible but true corelation cannot be established. From hand

it is difficult to find the ascendant and one cannot know about the

functional nature of planets.

Best wishes.
