Hello All,

Before sending what I am sure most would consider annoying SA questions, I

would like to know what background experience I should have before asking

'stupid' questions?

I am an inexperienced novice with David Hawthorne's book in hand. However,

after my first read I do not think that I have retained much knowledge and

realize that practical hands on experience is what I need. I know that the

Professor posts when he is able, but is it acceptable to post information

with a 'walk-through' example and get help/assistance from other members (I

just do not want to annoy the list)?

Please let me know what should be expected of a person just beginning and I

will start there and I will ask for help and critiques along the way.

Thanks,

Duke

Hi Duke,

Welcome to the listserv and the fascinating world of SA! It was only

two years ago when I first started asking questions here and I was

very supported in my efforts to understand this divine science of

life from the Systems' Approach perspective.

David's book is very good and it was how I was introduced to SA. I

then purchased all of 's books and did charts on

all my family friends. I then posed questions to the list and was

helped by and learned members.

I do not think there are " stupid " questions when posed from a sincere

learner. I would recommend making an effort to first research the

question before posing it. But of course, that is my Virgo ascendant

style.

Look forward to hearing from you in the future...

Warm regards,

Shayn

Hello Duke,

To understand the concepts one has to read the fundamentals repeatedly. You

can ask questions wherever necessary and help comes forth on the list.

Best wishes,

Dear Mr. Duke Amboy,

Welcome on board.

My initial foray into SA was also through Astrology for Life. It is a

solid compendium of the basics of SA.

For more advanced and updated learning and predictive techniques, I

would recommend reading and studying 's set of

books, and especially his recently revised edition of Predictive

Techniques...

Also, you may visit his website (www.yournetastrologer.com) and find

the learning material uploaded there as well.

As for questions, it is always better to ask than it is to feel lost.

So please don't feel shy. In the beginning you will find most of the

answers to your questions in 's books themselves and

on the website. I would recommend reading them and re-reading them as

much as possible.

As you become a more advanced learner, there are some subtleties that

may need more explaining.

If you would like to ask a question and feel shy in doing so here, you

may ask me directly. My e-mail address is arunrao9. If I am

not able to answer, I will at least direct you to the appropriate link

on 's website.

Best of wishes in your learning,

Arun Rao
