Power of the Kavach

Dear Friends:

You may have heard that several tornadoes hit Iowa last night... at least

one hit the University of Iowa area in downtown Iowa City.....

This morning I received this from a mother of one of the students.

Hi David,

I wanted to tell you that my son, Jesse, who is living in Iowa City,

experienced the tornado activity that happened there tonight.

A lot of the damage was in the part of town where he lives.

This is essentially right in the middle of campus.

He said he felt the wind and heard the roar (like a train) and

scurried into his apartment because the basement door to his apartment house

was locked - no one could get in - so he went to the safest place in his

apartment and hoped for the best.

After the worst of it, he went outside to check and was rather stunned

by the amount of damage in his neighborhood.

But the most interesting thing to me was that he told me the houses on

both sides of his apartment house sustained quite a lot of visible damage

and trees were broken in the yards.

He said he had heard breaking glass during the storm and then saw some

windows blown out.

Power lines were down and parts of roofs were lying in the street.

The roof on one house right next to him was damaged and he said every

tree in the yard was broken off.

But his house sustained NO apparent damage.

He went out to see about his car in the back parking lot and there

were big heavy dumpsters that had been moved to within 5 inches of the car

in the back and on the side, but the car looked like it had sustained no

damage.

The first thing I thought of was the kavach.

He never takes it off.

I'm pretty amazed and I'm crediting the kavach with helping to create

the influence needed to protect him and his property during the storm.

Thankfully yours,

Cheryl
