overlap of significations

Dear :

David Hawthorne suggested that I ask you to answer this question: I have noticed

that

there is a lot of overlap on the significations of the signs, houses and

planets. Is this based

on observation or is there some logical reason for it? For example, Gemini and

Cancer

both rule the bones of the arms and hands. Also, the Moon governs the stomach,

but the

Fifth house governs the stomach too. (Why not the 4th of which the Moon is the

natural

ruler?) Also, Venus and Mars both rule the neck. It's a bit confusing. There are

more

examples, but I am more interested in the reason behind the overlapping of

significations.

Thank you for so generously sharing your knowledge with us,

Karen

Hello Karen,

Stomach is ruled by the fifth house, the sign Leo and the planet Sun. In

some cases there are overlaping significators and that is due to the fact

that the lower and upper portions of the same part of the body may be

governed by the adjoining houses/signs. The assignment of significations is

based both on observations and logic in most of the cases.

Best wishes,
