Well, 12th house has no affinity with longevity. What has is 1st house. 12th house is 12th of 1st; inference obvious: exaltation of 12th lord will not conduce to tanu bhava, to that extent no benefit to longevity. But there is a little catch. Sun is karaka for tanu bhava. His exaltation will promote the bhava. I'm waiting to learn of the exact dictum: Sankrit original with source pls (transliteration will do). Thank you. Good point. Exaltion of sun in 8th is only possible in virgo lagna as lord of 12th house. Here the dusthana lord becomes stronger with VRY. What implications for 12th and 8th house . Dear RK ji,

The discussion is about the dictum from garga hora, given in my

article on 'Sun in Various Houses'.

So please get a pdf reader first and read it! (By the way you can

download a very good pdf reader from:

http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php) ;)

Love,

Sreenadh

12th lord in 8th in exaltation means, 8th is Bhagyam to 12th. here 12th lord Sun is in Bhagyasthana from 12th and that to in exaltation. it causes a Rajayoga and enhances the positive aspects of 12th bhava i.e. foreign travel, Mokha after death, conjugal bliss etc. Definitely it is a positive placement if there are no malefic aspectss or malefic conjunctions. here also u have to see the constellation in which Sun is placed and assess the sub lod position also. rk dash <arkaydash wrote: Well, 12th house has no affinity with longevity. Dear Rao ji,

That is a good point, well said. The statement is well supported by

dictum as well.

==>

12th lord in 8th in exaltation means, 8th is Bhagyam to 12th. here

12th lord Sun is in Bhagyasthana from 12th and that to in exaltation.

it causes a Rajayoga and enhances the positive aspects of 12th bhava

i.e. foreign travel, Mokha after death, conjugal bliss etc.

Definitely it is a positive placement if there are no malefic

aspectss or malefic conjunctions.

<==

Definitely 12th lord sun in 8th for virgo lagna indicates foreign

travel. It could also be living away from native land. As per sages

it also indicates peaceful death (I may be a bit reluctant to use the

word 'Moksha' because the combination is different for the same, as

per Mihira). Yes, definitely it is a positive placement if there are

no malefic aspects or malefic conjunctions, except for things such

eye trouble.

Love,

Sreenadh
