Guest guest
As far as staying inside and avoiding bad effects of eclipse, particularly for the unborn child, here is an innocent question: It seems that the walls and roofs somehow have a protective effect from whatever rays cause the bad effects of eclipse. Makes sense? So obviously homes with thick concrete walls and stones are safer than huts and thin wood and plaster structures? With me still? And if you live in the basement of a sky scraper apartment building, protected by those hundreds of storeys and indwelling inhabitants who filter out the bad rays from reaching you, then that is the perfect safe spot one would deduce. And economical too! Generally the dark, dingy, basement flats are cheaper to rent! The next leap of faith is that animals that live underground (too many to name, even if I knew them all!) are almost completely protected from eclipses? Food for thought! Guest guest
dear friends albeit the eclipse is over, still let me share the simple answers to such FAQs on eclipse. sun is the light giving planet and when he rises, we all wake and up and work under light. when the sun sets and darkness envelops, we all run for cover (like all animals, bird and other sentient beings) and stay indoors. of course humans with their intelligence use artificial lights at night for self protection but it is no substitute to lord sun. many people who drive on long highways spot various creatures of darkness at nights but none of them are visible during the day. on all normal nights, when the night starts, creatures of dark start their work like bats and other nocturnal creatures. so is the belief that vampires, evils, devils and other demonic creatures that work during nights, they all sleep during day as they simply cant face the sun. when a solar eclipse occurrs during the day and the fiery fire god sun himself is swalled by dark rahu and the earth becomes dark, it is reckoned as a brief time when evils supercede or rule the earth. this is the reason why even temples are closed and the gods too are fully covered with clothes etc. so, no place is safe from the dark rahu under eclipse except lord shiva because he not only wears the snake as his ornament but also drank the whole poison and the venom of the snake cant do any harm to him. this is the reason why shiva temples are exempt from closing during eclipse. as for the specific question of a person staying indoors within a house with thick concrete walls getting protected, it is untrue and the dark forces rule the whole earth during the period of eclipse which is why it is advised to keep chanting the names of god and seek his strength to protect himself. praying to lord shiva is the best remedy during eclipse period. a shiva temple is a safe place for proteciton against eclipse. pregnant mothers shall not expose directly to the eclipse and couples also shall not mate during the eclipse as it is believed that children so born may have a cleft lip. last year an indian documentary film on cleft lip girl titled " smile pinky " got an oscar and doctors have no genetic reasonsing why a baby gets cleft lip. in telugu this cleft lip is called " grahanam morri " and this word is in use since centuries as if it is a direct eclipse affect. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemedy.com , " Rohiniranjan " <rohini_ranjan wrote: > > As far as staying inside and avoiding bad effects of eclipse, particularly for the unborn child, here is an innocent question: > > It seems that the walls and roofs somehow have a protective effect from whatever rays cause the bad effects of eclipse. Guest guest
Beautiful sharing, Arjun ji! Your words often sound like the Sun coming out of eclipse, if I may go poetical on you for a second :-) Baba Shiva only listens to MA whose symbol he holds with obvious love and respect on His head close to the Crown Chakra! And MA never gives HIM wrong advice or inappropriate message! Including the one that is attributed to Her about astrologers and the curse SHE cast on all of us! The simple fact though is that MOTHERS do not stay angry with children if they demonstrate that they are dedicated, sincere and have a purpose! Like the HISTORICAL account about Bala Krisha and Ma Yashoda and the DIVINE TANTRUMS!! Guest guest
Dear Members, It is not just the harmfull rays that matters. It is also LACK of Ultraviolet rays that destroys many virus & hamfull microbes, the reason why even our ordinary people says one should not eat food during the eclipse and also food that is kept in the open. It is customery, which is still followed in our homes to clean every thing including having a bath after the eclipse. All the clothes are washed including even the bedsheets. So hygene was given prime importance here. However the reality is that with a fast life, limited time and resources or its over usage and many other socio-economic factors, our atmosphere and surroundings are so much full of these harmfull microbes, not all the sun's rays are able to destroy them. If you just put a drop of water that is supposed to be pure, supplied by our municipal corporations, you will probably run away to the himalayan glaciers. Ultimately, it drill down to Hygene in all respects and adaptability. Due to the stores such as rahu eating sun / moon branded this as superstitions and are dismissed by our well educated generations. Scientific fact are easily forgotton but stories that we here even from the childhood and followed stays with us. The scientific findings prove the reasoning behind such activity as mentioned above irrespective of the stories surrounding them.
