Namaste Advaitins,

For sometime, I have been searching for the following book.

`The Naishkarmyasiddhi of Sureshvara', Madras University Philosophical

series No. 47 – General Editor: Dr.R.Balasubramanian , Director,

Radhakrishnan Institute for Advanced Study in Philosophy, 1988

If anyone knows details of getting this book, please let me know. (Calling

the university does not seem to help, neither does enquiring Motilal

Banarasidass.)

praNAms to all advaitins,

Ramakrishna

Dear Ramakrishna-ji,

I do not know anything about the specific book that you mention.

However, you may not be aware that there is an English translation available with

the title: ‘Realization of the Absolute’. This is purely a

translation of naiShkarmya siddhi by A. J. Alston and may be purchased direct

from the publishers, Shanti Sadan, in London UK (website - http://www.shanti-sadan.org/).

Best wishes,

Dennis

I think there is also commentary - not sure in English or in kannada by H.H.

Sachidanandendra Saraswati's disciple - I have met a swami from that order who

has translated that into Telugu.

Perhaps Bhaskarji can help.

Swami paramaarthanandaji is currently taking this text - He may be in the middle

of the 3rd Chapter. One can get hold of his CD's on that text. They may be

available upto the end of 2nd Chapter.

Hari Om!

Namaste Smt. Lakshmi-ji and everyone,

Thanks a lot for the help. The resources in this group that are in bIja

(potential)

form -- and quite regularly in vyakta (manifest) form too -- really amaze me!

My praNAms to all advaitins,

Ramakrishna

Hare Krishna

My paramaguruji H.H. Sri Sri Sachidaanandendra Saraswati swamiji himself has written a comprehesive commentary in Sanskrit on NS in the name of 'kleshApahAriNi', with the lot of quotes from Sri sureshwara's bruhad & taitireeya vArtika...I am not aware of any English translation, but the same work has been translated in Kannada by kaivalyaananda saraswati....Sri SSS has also written a book giving plain meaning of the verses in NS in Kannada. All these three works are available from Adhyatma Prakasha Karyalaya, Bangalore/Holenarsipura, Karnataka. Hari Hari Hari Bol!!!

bhaskar
