It is what lives through Dan, and through all that is.

Without ever having been named -- nor will it ever be.

It's closer to you than your skin - not somewhere in the great beyond.

But why ask someone else about this -- it's not someone else that has

the answer for you.

A nice exchange.

We are, all of us, Silence speaking.

Some are consciously aware of that.

Some are not.

That is the only difference.

a question posed by who, to whom?

and how *deep* does that question go?

one level?

two levels?

many levels?

does it just keep going,

piercing layer after layer

of bedrock?

How could there be differences where there are none? How could there

be silence with no one to listen? How could there be anything when

from the beginning not a thing is?

not a difference in what is, but in *realization* of what is

as if what had been in darkness is now brought to light

> How could there be silence with no one to listen?

The Silence spoken of is the silence of being itself.

It is not the " absence of sound " .

It is the deep coursing of what is, in, of, and through

everything.

> How could there be anything when from the beginning not a thing is?

All that appears is only appearance.

Reality is not in what is tangible.

Reality is in the very vitality of experience

that makes appearance possible.

Reality is in *aliveness*...

and it is in alivenss that these

words are being read, that the

meanings of the words are unfolding,

that the screen upon which these words

are seen is beheld...

Without this aliveness

nothing could be

And this aliveness is *just now*...

it is never " then " ... only now

Everything spoken here goes back to the aliveness

and the Silence

just the distilled presence of aliveness

Silence and aliveness are one

the Silence... so very alive

the aliveness... so very still

You couldn't write these words if there were any differences.

> How could there

> be silence with no one to listen?

There is no listener to disturb it, no internal activity, no external

activity.

" Silence " fits as far as words go, although all sounds are included,

all discriminations, all differences - just no separation has ever

occurred.

It's too deep even to go by the name of " silence. "

Well, you're sitting there typing these questions aren't you?

That requires fingers and a keyboard, doesn't it?
