Ps: impossible to study Deep Peace.....but it Is....real

I find that I'm not in agreement with the implication that understanding

does not lead to peace. This would seem to say that evolution of human

consciousness does not experientially occur. The understanding does not lead

directly

to nondualistic peace but it certainly leads to the experience of a peaceful

life in duality and is the necessary preparation of mind for

release/transcendence.

Do I need to describe the understandings that occur in spiritually mature

individuals that lead to peace and release of egoic needs and attachments?

Hasn't everyone here already come to some of those understandings?

Certainly there are " maturation adjustments " along the

way that lead to a more spiritually whole way of living.

Not blaming others for one's troubles, for example, is one

such step of spiritual maturation. The eightfold path of

Buddhism is a path of such steps. And the establishment

of such patterns in the life is crucial as a foundation

for any real release from suffering (my view).

While I tend to think of such spiritual evolutionary

steps as a kind of " reprogramming " rather than undertanding,

something does have to be " seen " (it would appear) in

order for that programming to take root. So in that

sense the writer has a point.

Nevertheless, there is nothing to be understood.

Neti neti is about the release of myriad false understandings.

It is not that one " get's it " . That is a misconception

(my view). It is that all the " getting it " is ungot.

And in the absence of any " getting it " there is an

astounding simplicity that cannot be described.

I'm in complete agreement here. Certainly, the understandings are not

technical or conceptual, perhaps a better word is realizations, which inevitably

amount to release.

The truth will annihilate 'you'.

Yes, I know that you were.

But....there is no such thing as " individual human consciousness " .

Duality...is war.

No.

Release conjures the image of the end of the tension that sustains the painful

illusion of

separation and

solitary confinement.

The so called ego is nothing other then a loose configuration of needs and

attachment.

No...they just apply more makeup to the mirror...and interpret that as personal

beauty.

They attempt to make a silk purse out os a sow's ear.

In seeking its own transformation...the 'ego' wants nothing less then to ascent

the throne

of the god of its own creation.

It will step over starving babies........on its trip to Arunachala.......

P: Yup, and set you free.

P: Yes, but I was speaking more of individual human consciousness.

P: To a warior, yes it is.

T: The so called ego is nothing other then a loose configuration of needs

and attachment.

P: Ego is a highly structured and remarkably self deceptive system of self

identifying thought, not easily dismissed as a loose configuration of anything.

>Hi Phil,

the only understanding one need to have....is that this " mortal "

identification with body-mind-intellect can't be the real Self...

if one is persuaded about Self.....and when one come in touch with

Self......by meditation as for example......

the process of loosing slowly the wrong identity and the wrong

understandings (illusions) is running....

then....there is " deep peace " rising.....and rising....

sure...if one even don't " believe " in the existence of an infinite

Self......then, even endless studdies give no result.....

we are not this body-mind-intellect....and never have realy been......

this is the understanding one need to have.....to start a spiritual

process.....

this process is not of " intellect " (-championship)....but of giving

up with endless love......this illusions of wrong identity....
