sam: yep, I hear ya there. To again quote one of my fave Beatles

lines.....speaking words of wisdom Let It Be.........

mind you, here's a clever money making industry under the

heading " enlightened " . They pattern it somewhat after the eastern

ashram/donation methods. It's all about letting distractions make

money for ya regardless of what those distractions are:

A woman in the U.S.A. is dedicated to her dead Indian guru and her

and her husband had an ashram. They divorced and sold the land and

buildings. She also has a website and message board dedicated to

the guru, and a subsequent mailing list. Sells various related

trinkets and music on her website. Her ex-husband just remarried

and sends a financial call out to the emailing list that he'd like

to get the new Universal peace Center Ashram up and running

again....donations please....(this Ashram gig ain't cheap you

know.) During the holy festivals you can donate money for candles

and incense for varied package amounts and they'll perform puja for

you, on your behalf. (prices are just a guideline).

Today I recieved this email:

Dear Friends,

Looks like my computer just up and died, completely.

It's had many revivals, including new hard drive and all kinds of

things in the past four years, but this time the resuscitation is no

longer worth it.

Please send me your ideas about best computer to get, IF YOU HAVE A

SUGGESTION!

How much memory, what features, etc....?

AND if you know of a great place to get it on a tight budget, since

monthly donations to Universal Peace Center need to pay for this.

That would mean we have to stay under $400 to stay within our

present budget. Your donations are also welcome at any time. I

don't get a salary to share Babaji's Message with you. It is my

unconditional service. This is only possible through donations to

keep up the website expenses and the list work.

Thanks for your continued support!

Universal Peace Center

address XXXXX

or

jaigifts2myway.com for paypal payments

or

call us at 872-xxx-xxx (USA only) to make a phone payment via Visa,

MC,

American Express, or Discover Card.

My husband wants a new car so I'm wondering if anyone would be

willing to offer donations?????

I'm thinkin that's quite a creative way to get a new computer. What

Universal Peace Center I asked? It's operated from a room in her

house!

Distractions-R-us indeed!!!!!

Let it be, let it be, let it be aaaaahhhh let it be?

Or shut 'em down.

It's a coin toss at this point.

Dear Sam:

That's an amazing story. Does this lady really believe in what she's

doing? Or, does she know she's scamming ignorant people? I wonder...

Religion is big business. Tax free in the U.S. My Old Man used to tell

me to become a preacher. But, I never had the gall. I see religion as

a disease. It goes all the way back to ancient Egypt when the

priest-class was selling entry to the afterlife to the nobles. It was

big bucks to get an afterlife. You had to be rich to get a mummy. And,

you had to have enough money to have someone look after your mummy

when you were dead. If anything happened to your mummy, it would screw

up your afterlife. If you were poor and couldn't afford a mummy, you

didn't get any afterlife. Tough doo doo. Only the rich and noble

classes could have an afterlife. And, you wanted to make damn sure

nobody screwed with your mummy while you were gone, or, into the

netherworld you would descend. Talk about a racket! Religion, in

general, is a scam.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

:)

Yours,

fuzzie

P.S. Oh, yeah... I agree. The Beatles rock.

Consciousness can scam its self in the same way that electricity can shock

itself.
