The glorification of any concept is a hindrance because reliance in all concepts must be abandon if liberation is to be realized. The ideal of sanctity is particularly pernicious because it clearly entails seeing pleasure as sinful, dividing words into obscene and sacred, and people into sinners and saints. To aspire to sanctity is to call the very God the would be saint adores a sinner because the believer can't deny it was his God who created those pleasures he abhors. To aspire to sanctity is and act of arrogance. With realization desires may die naturally, complete benevolence, and meekness may come or not, but to seek them is nothing but pride and lust for spiritual supremacy.
