(Shivpur- Krishna theera-Vriksha roopa)12th Pontiff of Sri Rayar Mutt (1490-1492)PooRvashram Name AnanatappaHis guru Sri Vibhudebdra thirtha gave Lakshmi Narasimha Shaligrama during his Poorvaashram days. and asked him to worship. He worshipped Sri Rama for sometime and gave ashram and samsthana to Sri Raghunanadana thirtha ( Nithya Sudha, Bangalore)He was a great scholar and “viraktha”( free from attachment), Nrisimh upaasaka, At the Krishna River near Raichur, there is a small island ( Nadu gadde) with a Gum Tree. When there was flood, he stayed in that “Gadde for 7 days without getting up, and moving out. And came to the bank after 7 days.(Dvaita Darshana Page 29.)Dhyaana Sloka:SaptaraatramKrishnaveNyaamushitwa PunaruththithaMJitamitraGuruM VamdeVibhudendra Karodbhavam||"http://dvaita.info/mailman/listinfo/dvaita-list_dvaita.info"WebMaster at Jitamitra.orgThis web site has been set up to inform and propagate information about Sri Jitamitra Tirtha (1475). He is the Eleventh (11th) Yati under Sri Madhvacharya and is in Sri Aksobhya Tirtha Lineage. Sri Raghavendra Swamiji (Rayaru) is the 16th in the same lineage.Sri JitAmitraru, [believed by the tradition as] having Rudramsha, incarnated in a village Shivapura in ShAhpUr tAlUk in Gulbarga district, Karnataka. Tradition has that Shri Jitamitraru incarnated in Shivapura and later on vanished in the Krishna river near the confluence of the Krishna river and Bima river, by reappearing as Gonada tree in a small isle of Krishna River. This place is known as Sri Jitamitra Tirthara Sannidana Katte or popularly called as Sri Jitamitra Gadde Please visit the web site for more details: www.Jitamitra.orgOn behalf of Jitamitra.org VolunteersSri Badarinarayan HerurSri Janardhan KrishnaraoBooks In KannadaTitle: Sri Jitamitra TirtharuCollected and Narrated by: Sripada Poutra Raja S Pavamanacharya & Sri A R PanchamukhiPublished by: Sri Gurusarva bhouma Sanskirta Vidyapeeth, Sri Ragavendraswamigala Vidya Matha, Mantralaya,Year: 1992 December - Bound CopyContact Address: Dr Jitendra Shivpur & Sri Venkatesh Shivpur Post Shivpur Village, Shahpur Taluq, Gulbarga District, Karnataka, DirectPhone Number: 08532 - 592817Courtesy:WebMaster at Jitamitra.org and Janardhan vidyajan at optonline.netAbout the saint as enumerated in-Courtesy: Haridaasaru stutisida Mantralaya MaTada YativareNyaru.Peculiar, wonderful,Amazing are the words by the Author of this article.Which one would suit to the saint A simple innocent, dull headed boy became the pontiff of Manatralayam Mutt. Ananta is the name brought up by his mother in a poor family. 8th year he had the Upanayanam. The boy had understood that this Janivaram has to worn during meals and other time it was hanging at the nail to the wall. The Lady took this boy to Sri Vibhudendra teertharu during the visit and narrated all about him.She also narrated an incident that the Lord had eaten the naivedya offered to HIM. There were no residue left for the Bhakta. When he was asked for the reason he gave the reply that God ate them. This incident reminds us just the way Madhwapathi telling to sri Puranadara daasar. It also reminds us the song“ HariguNisu NODenendu BharadiTTa AgnegeSaaligraama Unadire HaraNakkeGunDette Hari uNNe Toridara “Whatever may be, Sri Vibhudendra teertha took the boy to the Mutt. The Boy’s life style changed all of a sudden. In a few years he became a great Vidwaansa. The Saint gave him the Ashram. He was named Jita Mitra ( He who conquered the enemies) It is rare “ Pada-Prayoga” we do not see in Granthas. Says Monier-Williams in their Sanskrit dictionary. One incident worth mentioning. The Guru was teaching under the Banyan tree(Gona Tree) It was the sangam place of the Bheema- the Krishna rivers. All of a sudden flood came. All the disciples ran to a safer place . The swamij sat closing his eyes. He was not aware of what was happening alround him. One week he spent like this amidst floods. The disciplies were worried about their guru. They just heard a voice from the Tree” I am here only”That is why no Vrindavanam to him. He was called by the name “Bhooruhayati”. Every year aradhana takes place to that Tree only It was a strange thing to lead a life like that at the end, as he similarly started his life in the beginning to make one wonder !No body could treat this incident as a farce, since Sripadarajar, cotemporary himself sung a keerthana on this Mahan YativareNya. He lead the sanstahan for 2-3 years. He might be Rudransha and hence sripadarahjar addresses him Rudra Vandya Mooruti. But to this adjective, we get the next word as “Ranga vittala” thus making us to understand as “ Rudraninda vanditanaada Sri Hari” About 80 years ago Sri Susheelendra teerta while having a visit at sangameshwara Devalaya saw a “Bairaagi “ appearing before him and dis appeared in the GarbhaguDi. People connote that Jitamitra might have given Darshan to the saint.“Vanadane MaaDirai Yatikula chandraa PaaDirai” is the composition by Sri Ranga Vittala on this great saint.[Courtesy: Dr Srinivas Havanoor]b) Sri Guru Srisha Vitaladasara P.D.(1740-1846)He was the disciple of Shreesha vitalankita Hundekaradasa. (Sri Jagannatha dasara Shisya),Got Ankitha, Upadesha from him at kanakagiri. His name was Sri Narasimhadasa, specially known as “ Kuntoji Narasimha Dasaru “Dhyaana Sloka:Guru Shreesha maham vandhe GuruThathwa VidhodhakamGuhaashayam GuNaatheetham Bhaava yamtham Mahaamathim ||(Source., Daasa Thathwa Prakaashike- Dasa sahithya Project, TTD, Tirupathi.)Guru Madhwarayarige NamO NamO!Guru Madhwa SaMtatige NamO NamO !!is the famous composition sung at the beginning of any Bhajan programme offering “Pranams” to Sri Manmadhwar and all Yatis/ HaridasarugaLige. His famous Krithi inviting Sri Raghavendra to come (Aagamana) is sung in every house in Madyamavathi Raga.“Baro Guru Raghavendra ,Barayya baa BaaNarahari Priyane Baa, Guru Shreesha VitalanaKaruNa Patrane Bega BaaGuruvarane ParishoshisennanuMareyadhale tava CharaNa KoteyalirisiCharambujavva ThoruthaTwarithadhali Ododi Baa Baa. || “The other composition was:“ Nodale Manave Kondadu GurugaLa PaadavaEdu illavo PuNyake|NadOge Guru Raghavendra rayara SeveMadidhava Parama Dhanya-Maanya||
