Dear Krishna Bhakthas,

 

Shri Raghunath Rao has given a wonderful description about Gopi

Chandana. The name 'Gopi Chandan' is quite interesting. What 'Gopi'

means / refers here? Does it refers to same 'Gopis' as in

'gopi-geetha'? And also 'chandan' refers something belonging to the

class of sandal. Does this something that Gopis used to to decorate

them selves or decorate Krishna?

Also do we have any reference to this prior to the incidence of

Krishna Idol in the mud at Malpe.
