Dr. Chitrabhanuji,Radhe Krishna!I am overwhelmed to hear about the Guruvayoorappan temple coming up at Houston.   The  Lord's all-pervasiveness is spreading in a manner perceptible to the devotees all over the Universe.

I fervently pray to the lord to make His vibrant Divya-chaithanyam (divine vitality) be felt by one and all who visit the temple and continue to receive His benign grace day after day.   LOKAH SAMASTHAH SUKHINO BHAVANTHU..

Namaste Gurudevs! It gives me great pleasure to write this letter.  In a small way I am connected with the Sri Guruvayoorappan Temple that is coming up in Houston, Texas, USA.  I am attaching a letter from Sri Sasidharan Nair who is the president of the committee for the temple.  The letter is self explanatory.

We seek your blessings, your blessings are important for Bhagavan as Ambarisha caritam shows. With prayers,

Chith Puram

Dear

Devotees,

We

yearn to write this letter. The subject is of paramount importance

and is something which happens only once in a lifetime, if at all it

does. Therefore, this may not be an ordinary letter. However, I

need to tell you something by way of background.

According

to our scriptures after completing the purpose of His incarnation in

this world as Krishna, the Lord had made plans to return to His abode

Vaikuntham. Before He left, He told Udhava that Dwaraka will be

flooded and the vigraham that He and Vasudeva worshiped would float

in the sea. Udhava was asked to retrieve the vigraham and perform

consecration at an appropriate place for the benefit of the people of

Kaliyugam.

As

instructed by the Lord, at the beginning of Kaliyugam, Udhava

retrieved and consecrated the vigraham with the help of Guru

(Brihaspati) and Vayu at the place which later became known as

Guruvayur (the land of Guru and Vayu.) The Krishna vigraham of

Guruvayur temple is fondly called as Guruvayoorappan. According to

the pooja system established, Krishna is worshiped as a child

(Balakrishna) at daybreak and as the day progresses, the appearance

changes, which by the evening is worshiped in an attractive form at

the threshold of youth.

Twelve

centuries ago Sage Adi Sankaracharya had modified the practices,

which have been strictly followed since then.  Monumental

hymns in praise of Guruvayurappan composed by well-known devotees

including Melpathur, Sage Vilvamangalam, and Poonthanam speak the

glory of this temple.

The

dedicated desire of a group of Guruvayurappan devotees

culminated

in the concept of building a temple for Guruvayurappan in Houston

similar to the one in Guruvayur. Plans have been drawn and

construction work has begun. It was advised by the thantri, the

vaastu architect and the astrologer that a consecration of

utsavamoorthi might be performed before the final vigraham. Thus the

dream of a temple in the same architecture style of the original

Guruvayur temple adhering to the strict tantric practice is becoming

a reality.

The

details for this consecration function are being finalized. The

construction of a temple is a holy and austere task. In Srimad

Bhagavatam Lord Sri Krishna instructs Udhava that a devotee should

faithfully

and lovingly support the installation of His Deity, individually or

in cooperation with others.

It is a profound opportunity that one gets to be part of the

construction of a temple. Agni purana says that if a person makes

a temple for the residence of Vasudeva,

he and his family

attain the glorious Vaikuntham, the abode of Lord Vishnu.

Guruvayurappan

temple committee has great pleasure in inviting you to participate in

the consecration events that will take place on May 21-23, 2010 in

Houston, Texas.

This

temple construction is dear to everyone who is associated with this

endeavor and you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate

in it and receive the blessings of Guruvayurappan.

May

Guruvayurappan bless us all!
