People can TALK to Murugan?

I came across someone recently who told me that her father talks to Murugan. She was narrating her trip to several Murugan Temples in South India. This is not the first time I have come across such a story. Is it true that there are people who can really - in physical terms - talk to Murugan? How can we tell it is so? Thank you Patricia

Yes it is possible, I was blessed to hear the Lord once.

As many possibly know, as said in thirupugazh also " Sadu samayan

kaandar kariyaane " - song avasiyamum vendi of Thiru murugan poondi,

Kaumaram is a very unique path to Light and enlightment.

Both Ganapathi and Skanda are two forms of Aadhi Moolam. The story of

Mango at Palani explains this. The concept of the universes inside

Shiva was the path of Ganapathi and Shiva inside every miniscule

element of the universe is Skanda's teaching. Both Ganapathi and

Muruga are one and the same.

Skanda lives in every one of us and talks to us through each of us.

We are blinded by our karma that we are not able to listen to His

beautiful words.

I will tell an incident i witnessed 2 years ago, in thiruchendoor one

evening, I was praying in my heart to Lord Dakshinamurthy to give me

a Guru. Next day morning after surya namaskar and regular dharshan of

the Great Lord, i was sitting by the beach when my friend who came

for darshan in the morning, out of no where, spoke on who a Guru is

and how every single element of the world is a Guru to us, if, we

chose to be humble and listen to them. I was shell shocked as the

Lord spoke to me, just this time through a friend of mine.

There are many many such incidents in my life. I will write as we

roll on.

Om Saravana Bhava.

Thank you Mr Ravi. Yes, its very inspiring to read about your experience on the beach of Tiruchendur. But if someone tells you that so-and-so can "talk to Murugan", how do you know it is accurate? I'm not saying that anybody is lying, but how can you tell that "Yes, this person really talks to Murugan"? Among the Gods, Murugan is very easy to reach once you realize that all

the impediments that keep you from communicating with Him are within

you. Murugan will communicate with you in the way you can understand.

I am a very visual and sensual person. I reach out to Him through my

yoga. In meditation, I have been given visions of him and been in the

presence of Him and Goddess Valli. About 6 months ago, for several

days I was intoxicated with the memory of Her perfume. All I can say

is that I am a very level headed guy, with no psychoses, and I know for

sure that I have been and will be in direct communication with Him.

Call out to him, he will answer you with words, deeds, and presence. I

have received amazing things from him through earthly means when I have

called out to him for help. For most scientific people that all falls

into the category of major coincidence. For me his physical presence

is incontrovertible. He can be known directly, you need to find your

way of communicating. I am glad to know that people talk to Him. I am

not the greatest communicator through the spoken word. People

sometimes get tangled up in words. I prefer to communicate through my

heart and body. You might say that He is communicating with words

right now, but I cannot hear them. That's how I am constructed, but

His physical, visual communication I am open to. His communication is

in a number of dimensions, but our receptive capacity is limited: you

have to work with what you have.

Last Saturday, we had puja for Dhanavantri (which we had been putting off for a long time) and as it was Skanda Shasti I had the pujari do a puja to Murgan also. As I was driving back, I placed the Photo of Ettkudi Murgan on the front seat standing up and with support so that the picture was upright. Midway I just thanked Ganesha, Dhanvantri, baba for allowing the puja to be succesful, I inadvertently did not mention Murgan's name. That very moment the photo with a loud bang toppled over (road was smooth, no braking etc). I then quickly apologized to Murgan, acknowledging that without his blessing nothing would have happened and set the photo back and it stayed that way till I reached home. Was it just a co-incidence? or was Murgan talking to me and expressing his displeasure? For a person with faith, the answer is the latter. Murgan can and will communicate in many ways,

it is up to us to listen. Yogendra''s comments are right on. Exactly, Ashok! Our Lord Murugan is fast and direct in response. He

is very easy to reach. I remember well the joy I felt with the first

few " coincidences " of this communication. It was almost like a

giggly, childlike joy. Could this really be Him? Could he really be

answering me? Yes!

Thank you Yogendra, Ashok! Those were very, very inspiring narrations about your experiences about talking to Murugan. Yes, I absolutely agree that Murugan is so responsive that it melts your heart and it pours out in the form of tears! I wish I was so fortunate as Yogendra to experience Lord Murugan so intensely! Going back to my question (which started it all!!), it intrigues me that anyone can talk to Murugan in the same manner as one talks to a fellow human being. Next, it bothers me if I find it hard to believe someone who tells me that it has happened. So all I was

looking for was confirmation. Some people would say that Life, with all its splendours and wonders, is itself a miracle! Yes, then a audio-visual experience of the One Who Make It All would be a Super Miracle! Thanks again for those heart-filling narrations. Patricia,

Earlier today I received a personal email from a member who asked how

to establish this communication. For the group I quote below some of

the things I said to him:

" I have been thinking about your message all day: I have never

really thought about how to establish this connection. Murthis of

Him are in every room of my house. I must never forget Him in my

worldliness. Seek ways to thank Him always for all things.

On a very personal level, whenever, I talk to him I offer Him my

body, my life and my very being. I really mean it: I am His. I

accept what He chooses to do with me. He has given me life at

moments when I could have died. He has things He wants me to do. I

am always asking him " How can I serve You? " He lets me know what he

wants. Surrender completely. When you pray or meditate imagine

serving Him personally. Prepare his food, serve it to Him, bring Him

His sandals. You will be overcome with joy, you will cry for

happiness. It will be hard to believe how much you have opened your

heart just by doing this. But wait, just wait until He truly enters

your open heart

He knows you, cares for you, loves you. Truly make yourself His and

you will be in His presence. "

Om ! Sivasaravanabava ! My Dear Friends, I do not know if one can talk to Lord Murugan. But the following real experience will certainly prove that He is with us always; watching us; listening to us & waiting to fulfill our rightful wishes. On one evening, my sister happened to pass by one of shops which were selling clay molded idols. She saw one idol of Lord Murugan with the divine beauty which can not be explained in words. It was glowing with unmatched calmness. It appeared to give assurance like " YAM IRRUKA BAYAMEN" (when I am there why r u afraid). She wanted to immediately purchase it. The price was only Rs 300/= but to her dismay, she fell short by just Rs 50/=. The shop owner refused to reduce the price & he even refused to reserve it by taking a deposit. She almost came to the verge of crying. Repeated pleading fell on the deaf ears. She came back to home, as it was getting late. Feeling extremely disappointed & sad, she went to bed without talking to anyone. Some guests came but she was not interested. She only cried to Lord Murugan asking Him why He should

disappoint her like this. In the morning as per her usual practice she went to the room where pictures & idols r kept for worshiping. She received the shock of her life. The very same Lord Murugan idol was standing there with a broad smile. She could not believe it. Tears of joy was pouring she was thanking lord again & again. It so happened that her son-in-law saw the idol in the same shop & since he knew that my sister is a Murugan devotee he just thought of giving her this present !!!!! Now please tell me….is this a coincidence ??????? --V. Muruga Saranam

Dear Members..

It has been my day to go through all these messages at once today.

I agree with Mr. Ravi, Mr. Yogendra, Mr. Hariharan, Mr. Ashok, Partrica Madam and all those who expressed their views. Yes it may be difficult to believe that Lord Murugan communicates to one like a human being in His Beautiful Form (ofcourse He, The Formsless takes Forms to make sense to the conditioned ones). We have not heard of this though there are blessed people like Santhanada Swamigal of Skandasramam and Arunagirinathar who have seen His Form and have spoken to Him.

I have had many experiences like Mr. Ravi and Mr. Yogendra. Very often He effectively communicates to you on the topic you are worried about. I SWEAR NOTHING IS A COINCIDENCE. IT IS ONLY HIS GRACE AND MERCY. As one of them mentioned He is expressing displeasure - I have felt that it is not so. It is His Grace in trying to help us to remember Him. Though they say the Supreme God is Nirguna Parabrahmam, for our benefit, He shows these qualities like displeasure or anger. In the end it isonly to help us in not deviating from Him. Because He doesnt receive any benefit from doing so and all benefit is only for us. He does not need anything and He has everything. For our sake He shows His Love through displeasure or anger.

I often used to feel strongly that it was highly unfair on the part of Lord Muruga to deny Pamban Swamigal a visit to Palani. He can deny everything but opportunities to visit Him and pray to Him. But later I realised that He knows everything and whatever He does is The Best. THERE IS NO DOUBT about it. Be it death or even cancer, if He gives you it is out of eternal Love for you and your good. He, The Most Merciful never gives anything to us for distress or difficulty. If we receive one, it is due to our Karma and He is there to help us at any given moment. And still due to no reason you get one, it is for bettering you and purify you. At all times seek His guidance and He immediately and instantly (as often mentioned by many of you) responds.

The last time we visited Tiruchendur I had a wonderful experience also. I was running crazy because I missed out to get His Abhishekam Milk as we were busy going out after the Viswarupa Darshan. The year before I received it in abundance and I was very very very hapy. But this year I missed out and was very sad. Suddenly there was one preist who gave me a bottle full of His milk and was ready to give more also. He did not take Dakshina also. In the outer Prakaram there was a portrait (in the series of portraits) of Perumal (Venkatachalapthy) and it was written that " Kadavul kuduka ninaipathai yaralum thadukka mudiyathu. Kadavul thadukka ninaipathai yaraalum kudukka mudiyathu " . Which means that " What God wants to give you, no body can deny that for you. What God denies to you cannot be given by anyone " . MURUGA !!!! It happens in life also.

There are many many incidents in which He expresses through signs or colours or His eyes or smiles in His portrait, many many ways. As they mention in the song " Kandha Kulandhai Vadivela.. Guha Shanmukha, Dhanam pera ninakke Jeyam Tharuvam, Nee un Karutthinil Bayapadel Enru .. " It says that He comes to you ordains through Voices or indications (Sakunam). This song I listened through the Voice of Thiruthani Swaminathan when I was wondering if what I feel is correct. That what I feel about His ways of communicating with us. I dont want to overwhelm you with a long mail of little little experiences. But He does speak to us. He also seems to animate through His pictures. Sometimes with anger, sometimes looking pleased with you. I use think that it is all my imagination or I simply want to believe that way. But more and more I tend to understand that it is by His will and not by my will.

Some times when we are worried we coincidentally receive some mail which mentions not to worry or mentions that we are correct. As you all said He is very very responsive.

Not only He communicates, He also builds His temples for you or tells you where His statue should be. For example, 300 years ago our ancesstors were told to take Kavadi for Him during thaipusam and at that time He have materials to build a mandapam for Him and this was told to them in Dream. The next day the materials were there. But they couldnt build. Again in the next day dream He said He Himself will build and it was done. Later on they could devlop it and expand it but could never modify the original structure. It is there even now at Palani, in the old Palani area by the name of Anna Dhana Mandapam and every year Kavadis reach there during Thaipusam and are taken to Hill top after Pusam. During the Pujas, the descendant of the Original clan gets Arul and dances in ecstasy and gives Oracles. They say that Murugan comes into Him. It happens only during that time and only at that place. Seeing that one will understand it is not bogus and is divine.

I also often get an instinct to do certain postures during prayers. It would look odd for anyone. But later I understand that it has been helping my spine. I realised it only after I stopped doing so for an year, as I didnt want to give odd impressions to people. But He knows what you need and what you should do. This He tells you when you ask Him for guidance. He has been asking me to do things that will benefit only me and not Him or anyone else. Another experience I have to share is that I had been suffering from acidity for long. The heartburn is distressful. It suddenly appears and disappears. Now I am practising walking as I have to Walk to Palani for this Thaipusam. As I am fasting I do the walking without chappals as our feet should get used to. When I started walking on Tar roads instead of the platforms for the sake of getting good practise, my feet have been receiving accu pressure treatment from the stones and pebbles and like a magic wand the acidity disappeared. After lot of research I could only find that walking without chappals that too on a tar road only helped me as I use to closely observe all that I do and eat and also observe my own sleeping timings. I could conclude that this was the only thing that changed my acidity. In this part of the world I was feeling uncomfortable to face strange looks for walking without chappals but felt complled that I should do so otherwise Muruga will not like it. And again I was the one to benefit from it. Now I do it happily. People simply want to take His Vibhuthi like pills and want to get cured. Ofcourse believing in Him and wearing His Vibhuthi are preliminary to achieve communication with Him. As Mr. Yogendra said, connecting with Him mentally without expecting anything is more important. And doing it is not by efforts. Only by showing our strong willingness to Him by prayers and He connects to us. If we raise in our levels of connecting with Him, I guess, the more clearly we can comunicate with Him. This is what I believe though I have not experienced.

It was a treat reading all your responses. Please keep mailing.

Om ! Sivasaravanabava !

My Dear Friends,

I do not know if one can talk to Lord Murugan.

It appeared to give assurance like " YAM IRRUKA BAYAMEN " (when I am there why r u afraid).

She only cried to Lord Murugan asking Him why He should disappoint her like this.

Patricia,Earlier today I received a personal email from a member who asked how to establish this communication. For the group I quote below some of the things I said to him: " I have been thinking about your message all day: I have never really thought about how to establish this connection. Murthis of Him are in every room of my house. I must never forget Him in my worldliness. Seek ways to thank Him always for all things. On a very personal level, whenever, I talk to him I offer Him my body, my life and my very being. I really mean it: I am His. I accept what He chooses to do with me. He has given me life at moments when I could have died. He has things He wants me to do. I am always asking him " How can I serve You? " He lets me know what he wants. Surrender completely. When you pray or meditate imagine serving Him personally. Prepare his food, serve it to Him, bring Him His sandals. You will be overcome with joy, you will cry for happiness. It will be hard to believe how much you have opened your heart just by doing this. But wait, just wait until He truly enters your open heartHe knows you, cares for you, loves you. Truly make yourself His and you will be in His presence. " Yogendra

that is an amazing story about receiving the idol one can’t

afford and yet by coincidence appears in one’s life via the grace of god.

by the way I am the person who asked yogendra how to communicate to lord

murugan. I have realized that he is my ishta devata and have felt so lost

without understanding the nature of murugan and how to invoke his presence into

my life. of course I am sure many of you have been trying as well. these stories

are wonderful and give great proof to the power of god and his many forms that we

wish to worship in him. lord murugan was such a powerful force if you read the

stories and the philosophy associated with him. I guess he really was a

bachelor too interesting enough. well I hope I can learn more as these stories are

very inspiring and it is a pleasure reading them.

Mr. Meyyappan,

Thank you for telling us about these experiences. You say in your

message " I dont want to overwhelm you with a long mail of little

little experiences. But He does speak to us. " Not overwhelming, but

inspiring. Those " little little experiences " we have are the

miracles of our lives, the things that make us love God so much.

Thanks.

What a beautiful story! I just can't stop smiling after reading it.

There are so many interesting things about it. Our Lord Murugan

bestowed His grace on the blessed sculptor (who brought this

beautiful smile into the material world), on your sister (who was

blessed with longing for the Lord), on her brother-in-law (for

helping a devotee), and on the merchant (who by practicing his

business increased the circle of people blessed by this murthi). :)

pleading fell on the deaf ears. She came back to home, as it was

getting late. Feeling extremely disappointed & sad, she went to bed

without talking to anyone. Some guests came but she was not

disappoint her like this.

Haha! When you say that the "merchant ...... increased the circle of people....), I have to happily disagree. He proved Murugan's presence by refusing to even accept the deposit and reserve the moorthi. That alone created the foundation for the Murugan display His Leela and send the son-in-law to buy it for His devotee. By the way, any comments to Raja Gursahani's comment that Murugan was a bachelor? Patriciastinger9oh <stinger9oh wrote: What a beautiful story! I just can't stop smiling after reading it. Dear Patricia

Faith is essence to spiritualism. As I had explained in the note, the

key to a speach is listening, if we cannot listen there is no point in

being in an oration. Muruga teaches us to listen to param purusha in

every ounce of the universe.

For the literal world, if we speak to God - that is called as prayer,

if God talks us...you know what they call it.

But thats the literal world.

Muruga speaks to me as He does to all of us. The subtle difference is

to hear it. I have to keep writing a daily prologue to explain how He

is the master and I am his servant. How he is a friend as Krishna was

to Arjuna.

I had earlier written about an annadhanam scheme at thiruthani, I

would like to share that specific episode alone to explain how subtle

the Lord's voice is.

I live in the US and run my own business. About 1 month ago, I was in

my morning prayer as usual. Just as a disgruntled employee, I speak to

the Lord in the morning and i was talking to him about what the day is

about to treat me etc. I then hear a voice as clear as crystal saying

the Gurukkal in Thiruthani is calling. Then I dismiss the thought as

an offshoot of some odd event. Though, the thiruthani gurukkal was not

anywhere in my mind among my business work etc.

After a few hrs, I call my parents in chennai over a casual call, my

mom tells me that the Gurukkal in Thiruthani called for an annadhanam

scheme and asked if my company could sponsor.

If that is not the Lord's voice, what else is? This humble devotee is

smaller than an atom on the grain of dust in the Lord's feet at

Thiruthani, the Lord asking me to do something for the temple was on

account of some Karma that I needed to get cleared, I felt elated to

be of service and the Lord asking for it Himself.

Like my Guru Arunagiri says in the thirupugazh song Seeralasadan of

Palani, " Koolan eninum enai nee un adiyar udan koodum vagai mai arul

purivaaye " - " I am a sinner, but you,my Lord, have blessed me and

joined me to the company of your devotees " - Bagavath Sevai.

I believe, every devotee of Muruga speaks and it is the Lord who

speaks in itself.

Hi

I was just going thru all the mails about talking to murugan, and this experience can certainly cannot be termed as coincidence, all the miracles that happend will look as if a coincidence, since even god wants us to test our faith in him.

Om ! Sivasaravanabava !

My Dear Friends,

I do not know if one can talk to Lord Murugan.

She only cried to Lord Murugan asking Him why He should disappoint her like this.

Patricia,Earlier today I received a personal email from a member who asked how to establish this communication. For the group I quote below some of the things I said to him:"I have been thinking about your message all day: I have never really thought about how to establish this connection. I am always asking him "How can I serve You?" He lets me know what he wants. Surrender completely. When you pray or meditate imagine serving Him personally. Prepare his food, serve it to Him, bring Him His

sandals. You will be overcome with joy, you will cry for happiness. It will be hard to believe how much you have opened your heart just by doing this. But wait, just wait until He truly enters your open heartHe knows you, cares for you, loves you. Truly make yourself His and you will be in His presence."Yogendradhandapani@gro ups.com, Patricia Jay <patriciajay2000@ ...> wrote:>> Thank you Yogendra, Ashok!> > Those were very, very inspiring narrations about your experiences about talking to Murugan. Going back to my question (which started it all!!), it intrigues me that anyone can talk to Murugan in the same manner as one talks to a fellow human being. Next, it bothers me if I find it hard to believe someone who tells me that it has happened. So all I was looking for was confirmation.> > Some people would say that Life, with all its splendours and wonders, is itself a miracle! I then quickly apologized to Murgan, acknowledging that without his blessing nothing would have happened and set the photo back and it stayed that way till I reached home.> > Was it just a co-incidence? or was Murgan talking to me and expressing his displeasure? For a person with faith, the answer is the latter. Murgan can and will communicate in many ways, it is up to us to listen. Yogendra''s comments are right on.> > Thanks> Ashok> > > > stinger9oh <stinger9oh@ ...>
