Dear Don,

i have C & P your post and reply here:

I am just curious to find out if any one of you here have ever achieve

Nirvikalpa Samadhi.

[i never think about the 'Nirvikalpa Samadhi' word unless somebody brings up the

subject. There is a great difference between a word, and its meaning. LOL! If

you want to 'talk Nirvikalpa Samadhi' with me, it will have to be in my own

language, and from my own experience. i just call it spiritual transformation,

which is much simpler! LOL! And that is something i have worked hard at, and had

the most success, since having my initial self-realisation in Sahaja Yoga. Since

then, i am experiencing the benefits of Sahaja Yoga [ " Union with the Divine

Within'] in my life! But i don't think about it in terms of 'having achieved

Nirvikalpa Samadhi' - i think about it in much simpler terms, of 'finally having

found what i was searching for', and 'finally being the way i have always wanted

to be, within myself'! (smile)

My life has been spiritually transformed in a way that i could never have

imagined! It's been a gradual transformation, where the Divine Mother within has

given me experiences of Herself. i now experience an 'integrated nature',

whereas before i was experiencing a 'dualistic nature'. In a dualistic nature,

your lower self is fighting with your Higher Self. There is a 'battle of wills'

right inside yourself, LOL! That is the dual nature. When the Spirit wins the

battle, mental conflict leaves, and peace comes in. The root word of

'integration' is integrity. This word bears contemplation. What does it mean? It

means the integration of all the spiritual qualities! A person comes " into

Union " where there is " not the other " . There is only Unity, within and without.

This has to be experienced gnostically. There is no way to comprehend it

mentally with any myriad of words.

i live by the wisdom of the Spirit, which i have discovered is my Higher Self! i

cannot differentiate the two now, as we are a unity, my Higher Self and i. The

knowledge of this fact is a very precious thing and unprecedented in all my

previous experience! She is my Mother, and yet.... we seem to be ONE! It is too

much for my mind to comprehend though. It is absolutely beyond my mind! So i

just " be " it, and enjoy it. It is very simple that way.

The wisdom of the Spirit is nothing, if not intelligence. i remember how some

SY's used to think that to stop their thoughts meant to forego their

intelligence. Some hilariously funny things happened because of this

misperception, such as people woulld forget to bring things to SY Meditation

Programs, like the TV, video, music, or biscuits to go with the tea, and then

blame it on their being in 'thoughtless awareness'! LOL! Surely it had to be

thoughtless 'unawareness'! LOL! So even a simple mental concept, based on the

word of 'thoughtless awareness' can be easily misunderstood. That is why i think

it is best to use simple words, to describe things in a simple way, instead of

using sophisticated terminology. That way we are talking about the same common

spiritual experience, instead of someone's wrong mental concept of what a word

means, or doesn't mean. The truth is that to know and understand what Nirvikalpa

Samadhi means, one has first to become a Gnostic! A Gnostic is someone who " goes

within " way beyond the word, to the meaning itself, for them in their life

(smile).

True spiritual awareness does not need the 'carrier' of mental thoughts for its

awareness. That is why it is called " thought-less awareness " ! Spiritual

awareness is an intelligence that comes from the higher spiritual level, and not

the mental level. The mental level has no capacity to comprehend the spiritual

level at all. That is why a person has to go " beyond the mind " or mental level

for spiritual transformation.

One of the first mantras which is in the initial Self-Realisation Guided

Meditation is:

" Kundalini Mother, please give me the Pure Knowledge of the Spirit! "

To eventually gain this Pure Knowledge of the Spirit, one has to first become an

'empty vessel', in order to receive it. If your cup is already full of other

things, you will have no room for it. When one becomes an 'empty vessel' this

knowledge just flows in, when it wishes to. There are no rules or regulations

that regulate its flow, to my knowledge, except that the person has to be in

" Divine Union " to receive it. The Pure Knowledge of the Spirit then flows in as

wisdom, knowledge, intuition, inspiration, and intelligence. (smile)

One of the qualities you will experience in the Gnostic state, is that you can

be calm though a storm may be raging about you. You will be aware of the

features of the storm, but the storm itself will not affect you, as you are in

the eye of the storm, withdrawing your senses to that calm that is there. You

ride out the storm, and it can even be an exhilarating ride. This also

strengthens your faith and you grow spiritually stronger, with experiences that

come for exactly that reason, to test you and see how strong you are! (smile)

The tests are actually blessings in disguise. Once you have been strongly

tested, and have passed the tests, they kind of don't come so often anymore, is

my experience. But then other unique experiences may come along, which may

further 'test you'. In the work for the Adi Shakti, we have been tested on many

fronts. The idea is to be found " not wanting " , but to be firmly grounded in what

some German philosophers call the 'Divine Ground'.

The Spirit needs to be supreme in one's life. The body, mind, and emotions are

there as a vehicle for your expression, without which you could not express

yourself. But the " real you " is the Spirit! This fact has to be known through

experience, and not just accepted mentally. The 'Divine Ground' within the

person needs to be cultivated, so the seed can grow, and become a great tree,

giving its fruit, its medicine, its shade, its beauty, and its empathy to the

world around it!

In Christianity, this state is called " Saving Grace " . Kundalini awakening leads

to this 'Saving Grace'. Eventually the continual state of 'Saving Grace' becomes

established within a person, and they are considered to be 'Truly Saved'. That

would be like your 'Nirvikalpa Samadhi', no doubt! It is a state where there is

no doubt that you have your salvation or spiritual liberation. Shri Mataji

Nirmala Devi also calls it 'doubtless awareness' for that reason!

i had always tried as a Christian to experience that continual Saving Grace on a

24/7 basis, but never quite managed it, until i received my self-realisation in

Sahaja Yoga and from then on, i used that connection to transform myself, by

making it the main priority of my life. Sahaja Yoga cannot take second place. It

has to take priority, to work! It has to be the main driving force in a person's

life. They have to be willing to sacrifice everything, to attain it. But

paradoxically, they are not really sacrificing anything, but their ego and

conditionings, but in the process you have to give up your 'old self' which is

your lower self, and i admit that it can be painful at times to do so. The lower

self does not want to give itself up that easily. That is why a person has to be

willing to sacrifice anything to attain their Higher Self.

But firstly, has to come one's initial connection or " Union with the Divine

Within " , which in Sahaja Yoga, which also means " Union with the Divine Within "

is called self-realisation. Then the person needs to use the tools given to

maintain that connection. It must never be forgotten that this connection is a

relationship though. The tools to help maintain that relationship are

meditation, contemplation, introspection, and of course, the Divine Mother is

there in the relationship with you, and She will help you. That is the best

part! (smile)]

How long does it takes to reach Nirvikalpa Samadhi from Nirvichara Samadhi?

[i understand Nirvichara Samadhi as thoughtless awareness, and Nirvikalpa

Samadhi, as the complete establishment of thoughtless awareness within a person,

from which they cannot go back, because it is established. How long it takes,

depends upon the person. It is important to discuss these points, but just

discussing it, does not bring that state. Paradoxically, achieving that state

can only happen if all concern about achieving that state is gone, LOL!

The initial desire to achieve that state can be had in the beginning, but then

it must be forgotten about and the real journey must begin! If a person hankers

after that state, instead of taking the 'inner journey' they will never achieve

the journey. Firstly, because by hankering after it, they have not started their

journey, and secondly by focussing only on achieving that state, they also have

not actually started on that journey. As long as a person is mentally involved

in the process, they will continually be thinking about taking the journey, but

not actually undertaking it in reality. It will still be a dream to be achieved,

in that case.

For myself, my aim had not been to achieve a particular spiritual state, but to

have God fill my life and be transformed by the renewing of my mind. i did not

quite achieve it in Christianity. The truth was there, but i knew i needed

something special to happen, that i was seeking for. i needed a real " Saving

Grace " in my life. i got that through Sahaja Yoga, when the Kundalini Mother

within, awakened within me and gave me that " Saving Grace " ! That was the real

salvation i had been looking for, and not just a 'church certificate' that i had

'been saved'! A church can never give you " Saving Grace " . Only God can, that is,

'the Divine Within'. To be precise, the Holy Spirit or Kundalini Mother gives

you that. It takes a catalyst to awaken Her in you. That is where Shri Mataji

Nirmala Devi comes into the picture. She is the Christian Comforter promised by

Christ Jesus. She has awakened many souls, and given them their " real

connection " . She has enabled the Holy Spirit that is with you {for your

'individual Holy Spirit' accompanies you at your birth) to awaken and arise

within you, giving you your Second Birth of the Spirit! The whole process is

subjective and not objective. That is why you can only apprise your spiritual

state, in retrospect, that you have experienced 'this' and 'that'.... and that

is how you " KNOW " . Again, it is a Gnostic Experience. " Gnosis " means " to know " .

The main necessity in this relationship with the " Divine Within " is walking

hand-in-hand with the Divine Mother/Holy Spirit within you. She is really your

Higher Self, but you have to experience that, before you KNOW that. But the

Scriptures do tell you about that also! The Mother within leads you to spiritual

mastery. She leads, guides, strengthens and fills you with Her love, wisdom,

patience and joy.

In your journey of self-transformation, you will discover Her and realise Her!

One day you might realise that you have achieved that state, but that state can

never be described or understood, by the word only of 'Nirvikalpa Sammadhi'.

Like most external language, the word 'Nirvikalpa Sammadhi' can never convey all

that it is meant to convey! People read a word, and have a mental concept of it,

but the best is to go on the journey of spiritual transformation itself. Only

then will you understand exactly what the words mean to you, because you will

have had a personal gnostic experience of it.

An interesting point to be aware of, is that gnostics from every religion

understand what the other is talking about. However, people who are focussed on

external religions only, do not understand what gnostics understand and know!]

Furthermore, did anyone ever succeed in achieving Rutumbhara Pragnya, that you

have become one with the object of your worship?

[becoming " one with the object of your worship " , i.e. Ritambhara Pragnya' has to

be the same as being in " Union with the Divine " , because in that union you are

" ONE " and in actuality there is no subject and no object, but you " are One " . You

realise you " are One " , and that is the real goal of " Self Realisation " , to

realise that you are " ONE " ! There is no duality.

According to Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, in previous times, only some very few

people who had spent their whole lives in doing 'tapas'

[penances/self-sacrifice/devotion] apparently got that, and sometimes not until

they were near death. They had to become perfected instruments first and then

the kundalini would awaken in them. Now, with the Advent of the Incarnation of

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, who is the incarnation of the Holy Spirit/Comforter

that Christ said He would send, householders can now have their connection to

the Kingdom of God. In other words, they can have their connection to the

" Divine Within " . But then they have to do all that other work, that people in

previous times had already done, their whole lifetime/s. This is a special

dispensation of the Holy Spirit/Shekinah. We must understand that! We are very

privileged to live now.

So we can have the connection quite easily now. But then we have to " make use "

of that connection, to transform ourselves, through the Holy Spirit. We are

given the power, through that connection, to do so. Having the initial

self-realisation/kundalini awakening is only the start of the journey! A person

can lose even that if they are spiritually lazy, and don't value it. Nirvikalpa

Samadhi can only come if people use that connection to establish that state

within themselves. To establish that state within oneself, requires devoted

spiritual constancy in your relationship with the " Divine Within " .]

How long did it takes to reach it?

[it depends upon how long it takes for a person to surrender everything in their

life to the Divine and have the Holy Spirit fill up that place instead. In

Sahaja Yoga, when there is nothing left to surrender, and the person is filled

with the Holy Spirit, then they will be reaching that state!]

What are the signs that you are about to achieve it?

[i can only give you the signs along the way that i experienced myself. There

may be slightly different variations for others, in what happens first, or next,

etc. (smile) One of the first things i noticed on my spiritual journey, was that

my mental thoughts were stopping. i was experiencing more peace. i was

experiencing more mastery over my emotions - ego and conditionings, in

particular. i had the vibrational spiritual feedback system to inform me. i

would catch strongly on some finger and work on clearing that chakra. In the

end, i found that most chakra catches were either related to my 'ego' or my

'conditionings', and no matter how hard i worked on them with manual chakra

clearing, they would come back, until i faced myself directly, and addressed my

'ego' and 'conditionings'. That was a real breakthrough when i discovered that

fact. Other Sahaja Yogis were mostly just continuing on continually manually

clearing and cleansing, and i discovered this secret that the source of the

catches was from what i was thinking from my ego, and what i was 'conditioned'

with, that is, my habits. So i worked directly on them. i used the tools of

meditation, contemplation and introspection, and especially forgiving myself and

others also! (smile) When i did this consistently, i found my chakra catches

reduced dramatically. i even found that a chakra would catch (that is i would

feel a prick or something on my finger) when i would think a wrong thought. That

started to make me aware of the deep changes i needed to make. Nothing less than

complete surrender would change anything. So i started to surrender, on a 24/7

basis, as any thing at all, would come up! i did that consistently for quite a

period of time, and was very satisfied, because what seemed like permanent

catches, started to budge and give way. My kundalini energy was able to break

through the psychological blocks. It was only in retrospect, looking back, that

in time, i discovered that the Kundalini energy was flowing freely, and i was

not getting catches (except 'catches of warning' which you are supposed to get,

as a warning, or information that you need to have). When i got to this stage,

when i would get a slight catch, very little, but a slight catch nonetheless, i

would just put my attention on the Divine, and it would go in seconds. That is

when i started to realise that the Kundalini energy was clearing me without my

having to help it, by doing manual clearing! i was really excited about that. i

also felt by then, stabilised in my self. It is a wonderful state to be in. Now,

it is just my normal state of being, and nothing could be more natural. So

please do not think it is unattainable. It is!

i hope this helps.

To my understanding, just keep practicing. Do not think about samadhi. Reading about such things will only create a confusion in the mind. Take mantra diksha from a guru and just keep reciting the mantra. The mantra will then show you all that you wanted to know....the NIRVIKALPA SAMADHI....Such an ecstatic experience which cannot be described by mere words.

Just keep it going

Thinking about Samadhi state and reading all types of books will only create distraction of the mind. Just seek a mantra from a sadguru and keep reciting the mantra as much as possible. The mantra will show you all that you wanted to know... NIRVIKALPA SAMADHI. This is not to prove other answers right or wrong. But only a way..

Such an ecstatic experience cannot be described by mere words.

Just keep reciting the mantra

Thanks.
