'Sita Sings the Blues' movie in the news

[Guest guest]

Nina Paley's animated feature 'Sita Sings the Blues'

will be at the Tribeca Film Festival (New York),

this weekend:

You can get a taste of the luminous animation

and fabulous music in the trailer, viewable

at the movie website:

(Nina Paley has removed the earlier youtube clips)

Nina's also posted a few stills to the website; here's my

favorite, featuring (of course) a goddess image:

Return to Mother Earth:

And another:

Sita Goddess:

From the links section of the website --

a thoughtful essay on Sita in the popular imagination:

A 2007 article on the movie, then in development:

/message/26704

I don't know if there are plans for a DVD, but I can hope!
